    Buying new car

Most of the corrados will return 30plus mpg. The 8 and 16v should be 35 plus. Just remember this is a modern classic and things do go wrong and you have to do a lot of searching sometimes to find the best solution to the problem. Just concentrate on a rust free car that has been cared for. We'll worth the extra few hundred to have a sorted car from a careful corrado owner than a worn out boy racer one. So do your homework and don't be afraid to travel for the right car.
  3. Thanks to Billcor for an excellent steering wheel and boss. Described to a T (defects) and great postage and packaging. Cheers, Kev.
  4. Bill, Received the Steering wheel and Boss. Perfect my friend, pleasure doing business.
  5. glad you found the issue. keep us posted with the difference in mpg and drivability.
  6. Forgot to add though. Rustoleum with a mix around 70/30 with good mineral spirits produces a great finish as we'll. YouTube 50 dollar paint job. I have done this on a few defenders and off-road vehicles and looks good and lasts surprisingly well.
  7. Up our way a motorcycle frame is around 60 to 80. A mk2 that I done was 260 and a 1 day turn around which was everything underneath that could possibly be done as well as a few bits from the bay. It's not that expensive to be honest as the actual hands on time and materials is not that much. Most of the time is spent with items in a chemical tank or oven. Actual blasting and spaying time is only 20 mins for an alloy wheel for example.
  8. Renewed the insurance with Adrian Flux (underwritten by Trinity Lane Classic) for the seconds time. Total cost of 139.99 with all mods declared. Ordered a few bits and pieces, bought some bilsteins and a momo wheel from a couple of members on here. So got plenty to be getting on with.
  9. Need to be posted then my friend. Pm me where and how you want the money sent and I will get it done later today.
  10. Hey Bill, I will take the steering wheel and boss at 125 delivered or if your south of Glasgow in the coming week I can meet you if it's easier.
  11. Shame shame James. Its Kevin lol Thats the slow one ;) lol. Sounds really nice though.
  12. Might just do that Kevin. The home build kit with a decent Garret seems to be half decent value. So does there drive in service. Might see what the turn around time is and spend some time in Holland. Kev.
  13. http://www.vr6specialist.nl/tuning/?t=en&p=tun11&id=1161950783&filter=9&pn=2 Anybody used or heard of TVS over in Holland. Looks like a good price for some of the Turbo kits. The Do it yourself complete kit minus boost pipe and down pipe for 2900 Euros including a choice of Garret Turbo's. This has me contemplating the Turbo route at that kind of money.
  14. Clumpy, Do these come with all the correct gear to fit direct to a VR.
  15. Ended up buying the pro Roll cab as well. They had it in store reduced from 200 down to 100. Tried the trade card and got it for 79.99. So 320 worth of tools and cab for 140. Can't complain.
  16. reserved locally as its too good a buy to pass up.
  17. There are tons of companies all around the UK offering the same services. Just drive in, 2-3 hours later you have a stainless system from the cat back to your spec of normal (quiet like OEM), small mid box (medium sound)and no mid box or sport mid box to give you a nice rumble. Pick your tailpipe design as well. So not too bad a service and a good long term replacement for a standard system thats on its way out. Problems that I have seen over a few systems I have had done on some obscure cars/bikes. The welding has been poor and incorrect prep / wire being used resulting in cracks/rust. Sounds a little tinny even after a few thousand miles when it should be nice and bedded in giving a nice tone. Mid boxes and rear boxes are factory made by a supplier and are not the best in design. No consideration given in terms of volume and required flow/back pressure. But for sub 300 quid all in all it is a decent service. Just make sure they weld the support hangers correctly and use heavy duty rubber hangers to support the additional weight of a SS system.
  18. Hof, If you still have these around the 10th of April when I get back to the UK I will take these my man. Based south side of Glasgow so not too far from Newcastle man.
  19. Have one also. Was TooHots previously on page 2. Still going strong.
  20. would love to have these off you. Not back home for another 5 weeks though aghhhhhhh.
  21. Forgot to mention the misses is on the insurance as well. Either way, first year was 160 ish and now at 130. Can't complain. Whereabouts in Ayrshire Paul. I am down in Ayr my man.
  22. Trinity Lane Classic Insurance underwritten by Adrian Flux 33 years old, 5000 miles limit, agreed value of 4000, Full UK and EU cover, 100 excess all for 133.22 a year.

    full respray

If you do a lot of the prep yourself for a respray you can keep the costs down to around 14-1600 for a professional job. i,e, windows, interior out, lights off, spoiler/sunroof off, side bump strips, Bonnet & bumpers removed. Any rust defects welded/repaired and or panels replaced. To hand it over as is and want a window out, door shut respray with some minor repairs to rusty areas then expect to budget 2300-3000 again for a professional job and more if the restoration work is heavy. Also paint costs vary dramatically depending on the finish your after. So paints will cost you thousands before even starting. To get it done in someones workshop/home garage then I would be looking at paying no more than 1500 for a hand the keys over number.
