i know what you mean, but mines a daily driver and ive done everything myself,no stealth racing to do my jobs around here, and at least you get weekends :)
-
why not buy youself a set of quality tools and do it yourself..im sure one of your mates would give you a hand..these cars are pretty easy to work on
-
plus to fit an original exhaust you have to either drop the axle down or cut and reweld to get it to fit
-
the gold is fully the silver is semi
-
£82  ,they only cost something like £12 from vw,i take it that price is fitted
-
Nicking the car doesn't seem to be as much the problem these days with the advanced immobilisers.. its the bloody petty crime like smashing the window, and nicking your headunit and CD collection thats too common!! true but the person nicking the steroe etc is just after some quick cash or a fix,but a proffesional car thief will take the car no matter what
-
Wahey thats exactly what it is. I only knew about it yesterday when I looked in the manual  , It sounds like quite a potent immobiliser though if it disables the ECU- so the combination of a CAT 1 set up, plus this secondary immobiliser (plus a disclock!) should mean that its not going anywhere off my drive in a hurry :) if they want to take your car they will take it,no matter how many alarms/immobilisers on it
-
at idle the noise is pretty much the same, just a bit deeper, sounds nice as you start putting your foot down
-
how much oil is there??there is an crankcase breather pipe that goes into the airbox, and do you mean when parked up with the ignition off and the indicator stalk up or down the side light comes on?if yes then its normal, its the parking light
-
ive got a magnex on mine by the way :)
-
most of them are pretty easy to do except the rear bushes, only because ive never done them
-
they are both pretty much the same to be honest
-
i would think it would be classed as a cat2,but youve got a cat1 alarm so it would come under that
-
the amount of amonia in t cut will not harm the paintwork,t cut does exactly as is says it does...it cuts a layer of paint off
-
just get the cat1 alarm certified
-
it could be your bottom ball joint thats shagged
-
for an extra £50 you could get another cat2 imobiliser fitted :)
-
they need to be wound back in on the rears unlike the front ones, the ones on mine were siezed so i had to buy new ones
-
theres a tool you can buy from halfords to wined the piston back in,but you could use a pair of pliers in a vice
-
probably to tight to pay the £1.20 fee to put a reserve on them
-
you will need to take the rear discs off again to secure the abs cages or replace them,i dont think they are to expensive
-
more than likely the rear abs cage has come loose,it does exactly the same on mine
-
so it looks nice :?
-
i take it youll be using one of the taxi company cars?if you are you will be on there insurance so why would you need to tell them as any claim against you will come from the taxi companies insurance...and your only going part time
-
i wouldnt say that, there are loads of drill bits now that will easily drill them out
