right, heres another one for u lads! went out 2 ma baby 4 mornings ago, couple of scaffolders standing outside the house next door, tried 2 look as cool as i could, jumped in to ma C started her up, and MY GOD! white oily smelling smoke EVERYWHERE! looked like a right tit! A few revs, and it stoped like nothing had happened! never done it before, and hasnt done it since! whats that about eh! random problem or what!?!?!? oh its a 1.8 16v!

why can nothing be simple! the only bit i need i think is part 7, so im gunna have 2 buy the WHOLE bit? think im gunna be better visting a scrappies eh fella? can see it looks expensive! and i only need a quater of it! u can see the little sticky out bit that fell off tho, cheers fella! knew someone would come up trumps!

im glad 2 see im not alone!! tried 2 sort it 2day, but bloody multi meter fuse is blown. :oops: not 2 good with em! so got 2 wait till tues when the local DIY shop man has a delivery! will have a go then people! keep u posted, if i remember!! :D

right im getting tired of my baby slowley! 2 weeks ago in burger king car park in aldershot, i pulled up and ate ma food, switched off the C and went 2 start it again, with no avail, put it down 2 my solinoid playing up, so poped the bonnet, taped it and nothing happened, tried again n again, and ended up getting the de-icer can and throwing a wobbly at it, :mad: smacked it a couple of times, and still didnt start, found out after i calmed down and took the lighter deep in 2 the car the red wire 2 it had fell off, so whacked it back on, and sorted! :D BUT, in my little paddy i had knocked off the reverse light switch i tried pushing it back on but couldnt see a thing, and thought i would do it with a torch back home, got home poped it on, and sorted i thought, but no reverse lights still, took it 2 my dads 2day, for a good clean n thought id have a look and fix it, played with it a bit and just couldnt fix it. then the whole bloody switch fell apart and bits fell everywhere, picked up what i could see, put it back 2gether and i have come 2 the decsion, i have lost in aldershot or somewhere like a little pin that it needs 2 push the switch, it goes in the gear box side not the switch, and i need a new switch as well, does anyone know the part numbers, or if im on the right track? very nearly stacked it in 2 the drive wall 2day due 2 not being able 2 see where im going, so i need 2 get this sorted V soon! HELP!!!! cheers peeps :cry:

oh right cheers fella, so does this affect the performance? when u say if it doesnt make a difference do u mean the way it starts? what is the idle stablilisation valve n where is it? can i fix it? is this expensive 2 sort any of these things? its comming off the road for a few months next month so i can take the bloody thing 2 bits n fix everything that is broke n falling off! i cant afford 2 fix stuff and keep it running, lol :roll:

right lads, got one for the 1.8 16v peeps out there, when i start my beast from cold, or after it has been left a while with no throttle it starts n cuts out again, then if i try with a bit of throttle, it starts, i have 2 put my foot down and it fires on about 2-3 cylinders untill i rev it a few times, and then it settles out as tho nothing was wrong! it has always done this, its just annoying! why? should it do this? does anyone else have this prob?

oh dear i think i need 2 vist a scrappies, it never looked anything like that even before the bit fell off, it only had one metal strip on it, and it was just pushed on 2 the engine on a thick metal pin think i might of been missing some bits, i will attach the pic again of the bit that has fell off.....

RIGHT, FORGIVE THE DRAWING BUT IT WAS ALL I COULD THINK OF 2 TELL U WHAT IT LOOK LIKES, I DONT HAVE THE BIT ANYMORE, THATS HOW I KNOW THE NUT IS BROKE, BEACUSE ITS PROB UP THE A3 SOMEWHERE!! SO IF ANYONE PICKS IT UP, GIVE IT BACK! LOL didnt realise i had caps on, anyway thats what it looks like, it comes off the top of the altenator and on 2 the engine, on a pin, and on the altenator with a bolt, but thats snapped off!?!? just a stud left in the thread.....

its only a wee 1.8 16v, and its even all over, werid, also, 2 of my tyres go down really really slowley, over aouut 2-3 weeks loose bout 10 psi, this is also V annoying, matey in the garage said alloys have a tendancy to become pourus with age, is this true anyone?!?!?

i put some new tyres on my C 6 months ago, there kuhmo 215/16/40's but they need replacing already?!?! is this normal? this is on the front only, the backs look like new, they are 225/16/40's also, the car is lowered 40mm, and i can only take 3 blokes or 1 bloke-me and 3 girls in it? :lol: good excuse eh? or it rubs, but only on one side? is this normal? i cant afford 2 keep replacing the sodding things at this rate! is this a new record? the tracking was done 6 months ago as well...........

right, another bit has broken on my baby, its hard 2 explain but its like a peice of steel that holds the altenator on, the top bracket it looks like, that you adjust it through when i replaced it about 4 months ago, i may of over tightened it, or the nut n bolt holding the bloody thinh has snapped off, a right bitch beacuse there is a piece of nut stuck in the altenator still, gotta think about that one! mole grips or something needed! but once i have got it out, i need 2 know where 2 get a new piece of metal it seems 2 still be holding up, but i know when i need it most soon, its gunna give up on me! anyone know the part No or what the hell its called???? cheers lads! oh and ladesses!
