I've bought a couple of the plug and play ones that busboy (or something like that) does on eBay. Excellent.

I (with a mate) reshelled a mk2 Rocco... Single garage (more of a hindrance than a help .. Forever running out of space to stand, couldn't open a door fully etc) and a sloping driveway. We wheeled the dead shell out into the street strapped to some kind of bread pallet on wheels .... Neighbours loved us (!) Everything except the loom was swapped (sound deadening, headlining, the lot) in a week, but that was in the summer... Not sure I'd start anything that serious at this time of year though.

MOT Test fail - corroded pipes and brake imbalance :/
fonzooorooo replied to timmaaah's topic in Drivetrain
If you don't already have them, proper 5 sided brake pipe spanners are an excellent investment! Its so easy to round them off with regular spanners -
They're the easiest engines of this era to do! Just the alternator /pas pump brackets to remove and you can get straight to it. I'd get a new genuine thermostat (dear, but I've had issues with every aftermarket one I've fitted!) And a new thermostat housing (they warp and often font like sealing again once they've been off!)

If you need more pressure from the retro pegs, wrapping rubber bands round them works well.

I bought and fitted the ebay seal last week. Had a VERY slight leak - investigated to find the inevitable rust... I treated that, then skimmed with chemical metal, then primed and painted. Looks spot on fitted, but ended up with sealant (I used soudal fixall) all over the car, seal, my hands (despite 2 pairs of gloves) fence, helpful neighbour etc etc (I hate sealant!) I didn't remove the screen, so applied sealant then fitted the vertical plastice 1st, then the top bit (plenty of time to move stuff around on the wet sealant) then more sealant round the lot and then the long seal. I actually found the long seal a bit TOO long - ended up cutting an inch or so off 1 end. Celulose thinners on a rag shifted the excess sealant off everything.

trim inside the boot Open the boot, look down... If you've had big/heavy stuff in the boot, this trim will be mangled. I bought this as ours had yellow marks... Naturally, once I gave them a rub with some meths, they came straight off, leaving me with this sat in the shed waiting to get something dropped on it and broken. There's one bit of damage (pictured) but that falls below the catch, so you'd have to be at a properly funny angle to spot it. A faff to post, but I'll be at Stanford hall, retro rides gathering, probably deva or could get it to either mk1 or mk2 golf OC gatherings, otherwise it's collection from Coalville, LE67 List Date: 4/20/2015 Location: Coalville LE67, United Kingdom For more info, click here to view the original listing: trim inside the boot -------------------------------------- On Sale For: ?10.00 (Local Pickup Only) -------------------------------------- Mobile friendly version: trim inside the boot Go Mobile: Download the free Panjo iOS app now!

90mm splitter 90mm splitter for sale. Bought by Mrs. Fonzooorooo in error (she thought it was a 50mm) ... no point in me fitting it as our driveway'll kill it(!) I've been fussy with the pics and shown every bit of damage so you know EXACTLY what you're getting... Certainly worth half the new price. I've heard a few cases of jag enthusiast club guys sending big restoration out to Poland... I can see why - the "scene tax" we moan about is like a drop in the ocean for old jag work!
-
Not got one, but I'll be shared with other models with the same setup... Like a black plastic turret which makes it squirt straight in front of the wiper blade.

I know the in pro ones are rhd-able, but has anyone converted the fk ones? Just collecting info at the moment - I might still go down the route of re silvering the original reflectors, but spotted the fk headlights are currently silly cheap!
