1. EXACTLY the same issue, except mines silent untill it warms up. going to try that 10w 60 this weekend, see if that makes a difference, FYI i recently rebuilt the top end on mine with new hydraulic lifters, timing chain, tensioner, guides, mk4 gasket, with headwork including polished valves/head. recently had it dyno`d at 205bhp 203ftlb torque... so theres nothing seriously wrong with it, other than it ****ing me off haha
2. i had a quick check when i had the inlet manifold off doing the lifters, couldnt see any carbon kicking around, or feel anything whilst it was running, ive got 2 weeks off from work as of friday, so i no doubt will spend that time under the bonnet, as i do every month.... i mean, ive leant against it having oil pump issues, as oil pressure is getting to every other lifter no bother, it just sounds as if one or two, are sticky. but there all new, i work at nissan and i really do see the ammount of "new" parts we get that are faulty, right pain if i end up stripping that down again... but weel see how it goes, oil change, pump check over and an oil cooler are on the list at the minute (Y)
3. if you could keep it till the weekend that would be good, im changing the oil this weekend, going to give the pump a check over too. i know.... thats the issue i had, and now its somewhat swapped round haha  common sense is telling me oil... obv as oil heats up it thins out, but with new lifters :S i dont know, id somewhat expect them to retain the oil a bit better. even the old lifters wernt as noisy as it is now when its hot... its got me stumped....
4. :bonk: right, ill do some back ground on the engine first. (2.9 ABV) had the top end re built back end of last year, new febi timing chains, tensioners guides ect, new gen. oil seals, all the valves polished and lapped into the head, head fully de-greased and all rebuilt CORRECTLY, with a mk4 head gasket. Replaced the tappets last month as they were starting to get a bit noisy, theyd been bugging me for a while but i just put them off. SILENCE is bliss, untill its hot.... sounds like ONE lifter tapping away, ive watched my engine oil/coolant temps like a hawk the last week and it starts at 88*c (oil) Should i go down the route of putting a better quality slightly thicker oil in? 10w 50 maybe? ive always used 10w 40 semi quantum replaced every 3 months. what about fully synths? (clean as f*ck internally) oil pump maybe? never had the sump off, has anyone had similar issues only when hot  the ******* thing is silent, and i mean silent, up untill then..... 5. Any ideas as to what this could be guys? My stage 3 fans come on after exactly 10 seconds regardless if it's hot or cold????
6. i recently rebuilt my vr6 lump not too long ago, and since, theres been a problem ive not been able to get to the bottom off. any help is greatly appriciated. the fans run constantly with ignition on and running, but only after exactly 10 seconds. just before the first turn off the key, after topping fluids up ect, i hooked the battery up and flash. the alarm **** itself, as it was fantastically positioned beneath the coolant resevoir. anyway, i pulled all of the alarm system out of the car, and replaced everything it damaged (clocks, wiring harness for the clocks, i also replaced the fuse box on the offchance that was also gone.) see build thread for pics. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=78930&page=5 i have tried dis-connecting all the temp sensors from the thermostat housing, didnt stop them running, ive swapped the fan relay, which didnt fix it either. common sense would say its a wiring short, but whats throwing me off that idea is the fact that its AFTER 10 seconds, surely theyd run the second a switched live hit them if it is a short? there wouldnt be any delay? ANY help with wiring diagrams/getting to the bottom of this is greatly appriciated, one of those problems where i just need a fresh set of eyes more than anything else...
7. Fair enough, but if you had a mint car but it had a flat tyre, how would you sell it? Lot of people these days strip parts down and rebuild them using the best "pieces" they have, ideal for a situation like that, I.e. I've just rebuilt clocks using 2 sets.
8. How much you after for those parts I'm after bud?

9. both, going off first come first served now
10. Still have everything I put up pal

11. pics are being a pain in the arse, anyone wants pics theyl have to add me on facebook
12. Not far from County Durham mate, Newcastle pal
13. 50 for both fogs, 35 for the mint one, 15 for the slightly damaged one
14. @lilfuzzer any vr6 clocks will do tbh, just so long as the module for the mpg runs of a vacuum line on the back of the clocks @robinw yeah, 35 quid posted for it mate
15. Don't know if it's just me or does anyone else who has a corrado, but one of mine is missing, and I've been unable to find one for a long time now, anyone got one?
16. Bet your having the same problem I had where it just will not start, 100% replace the PRIMARY stage to the ignition coil mate
17. After a few things to finish off my vr6 Interior; -Need a set of clocks (early spec) -Want one of the small screw covers off the a-post trim -leather steering wheel Engine bay; -Heat reflective cover for the wiring harness at the back of the engine **Parts to offer** as possible swaps, -late spec fog lights, one side completely intact, the other, glass intact but plastic surround snapped. -Late spec indicator, nearside, intact, no chips or cracks. -late spec16v clocks, 125k on them, fully working (come with early spec gauges) -Very very good condition late spec headlights, no chips or cracks, all reflectors in mint nic, only issues is one of the securing tabs on each lamp is snapped. Any pics wanted/or parts you have, get in touch!
18. If the one on the left is leather I'll take it pal
19. Cheers! I've still got a fair bit left to do to her before I'll be 100% happy, feeling she needs a remap now to gain the full potential of all the mods, plus the clocks that are in are out of a 16v rado, so if anyone wants to swap for VR clocks, the offers there haha
20. so, shes all up and running, but boy was it a job to get her there! started off by moving her to her new home, a unit which ive moved into with a couple other dubnuts. (full of mk1, mk2, mk3 golf, cabby, VR6`s) so, this is where we were up to before moving her down to the unit, the head was back on! and the process of building the engine back up and pulling the gearbox out. the process of pulling the gearbox out began in the time from getting it there 6pm, till god knows when in the morning.... but it was out! then the cleaning, couldnt bear to put something so dirty back in the car, plus it was a pain in the arse to get out, and going of corrados, if it was a pain in the arse to get out, itl be 10x worse to get back in, and i couldnt be chewed with getting black.... so the gearbox got a damn good clean whilst it was out! which took a long, long time...... regreased the bearing and pivot points for the clutch plate too (clutch was in mint cond. so didnt replace) then it was time to get down to business, replacing the timing chains, the upppers, were to put it simply, ****ed. one guide fell to bits removing it, the other wasnt far away. this is all done, and ready to go back together! took 2 weeks for the chains to come, was i sick waiting for them, you bet. now to the box... which we used an engine hoist to get back in after about 2 hours of failing to get it back in using jacks and manpower. but it was in, and the rebuilding could begin! for the next week, i spent 4-6 hours a day down at the unit before and off work (10 mins away form nissan ;) ) to get it done. pretty much all built back up (in a runable condition) so IF something went wrong and i needed to strip it all back down, i could easily and quickly. and with that, came the moment where i could start her for the first time! but because of this *******, that didnt happen, the second i conected the battery the alarm shorted out frying my clocks, harness for the clocks and the fuse box, seeing loads of smoke fill up the cabin of your pride and joy, is not fun. (what happened was when topping up the cooling system, water got onto/into the alarm, which took everything out when i hooked the battery up) firstly, who on earth at VW thought it would be a cracking idea to not only mount all the electrics for the alarm in the engine bay, where water/dirt are present 24/7, but not only that, under the coolant resevoir! so you can all guess what happened next.... then, whilst stripping the interior out, we bumped into the man who installed the alarm again, this time, with his fantastic wiring skills. i am genuinly impressed with how poorly it was wired in, like, i didnt know what to say when i saw it. you can see how hot the connections have been getting. but at least theres some electrical tape on the wire next to it. thank god! anyway, 3 sections of new harness were salvaged from a scrapyard out of a mk3 golf and corrado. which fixed all the issues puctured, and now it looks like.... then replaced the fusebox, i couldnt see any obvious signs of tracing/burnt wires/damage, but it stank. which was good enough for me to swap it. once again, a mk3 GTI came to the rescue. anyway, away once the fuse box was replaced, all the wiring was swapped out, and repaired, we were good to go! needless to say, it started up flawlessly, not a hitch, so, everything went back together that night and i spent some time cleaning and just admiring my work! and just last weekend she was re-insured, and taken to rothbury for a bit of testing which went fantastically! heres a bit of a video of how she ran, best played loud! http://videobam.com/vPNQu
21. With the 1.8t intake temp sensor, if you've ever had it out, youl notice it's just a small rod if you like, quite literally bolted to the intake. Which as youl know, gets very hot. Now with the 1.8t version, it sits further inside the intake which will give a more accurate reading for the ecu. Guaranteed 2whp of it, I'm expecting 2/3 maybe even 4 off the coolant delete I've done on the throttle body, cooler intake temps FTW. The mk4 head gasket is simple, it's a lot thinner than the paper based one and therefore raises the compression from 10:1 to 10.5:1, which is a lot. 5% increase in compression so expect to see a 5-10% increase in power, roughly works out at 8-10whp. Combined with the IAT, decat, filter, timing set up properly, ported/polished head, I'm hoping to be running 210/220 without a map. It ran 190whp a couple months ago, so once she's all done and dusted, I'll get her dynod again too see how much I've ACTUALLY made ;)
22. Also, a pic taken from Cumbria vags rolling up to a club stand I managed to blah my way into whilst heavily intoxicated the night before ;)
