I probably should keep my Storm too...
-
AND7 F, your a well informed. I think that considering the asking price for 57ORM is £19k at the moment that I paid a resonable price. It worked out at nearly £600 with all the fees. I think the only reason this plate became available was because I hasseled DVLA for it. I was after other pre-fixes too, C 57ORM, A 57ORM and so on but it would seem they may never be available. Well I may well be selling it in the not to distant future as I keep thinking about selling my Storm. Cheers.

I recently purchased the Reg N 57ORM for my N reg Storm  . Make me feel better by having a guess at what you think it is worth. I am wondering if I have made a mistake paying out for it...I just could resist it. Thanks.

Storm77, that quote was for Standard spec. I have just got hold of a set of 17"RCs (only done 2000miles) so had a quote for having them on. It took it up to £340 and another £7 would set my up for a max of 50mm drop (thinking about H&R Coilovers) that was with Admiral, however Adrian Flux will pretty much match it.

Odd that he would bother putting a £3k BIN on it when he says" they normally go for over £4k". He must be desperate to get rid :-)

I am just renewing mine now on the Storm. I have been with Adrian Flux for a few year now. As with all insurance companies the price goes up every year. It is essential to get other prices. My renewal came through as about £400 but a quick check on confused&elephant gave me a best price of £317 fully comp, Adrian Flux promptly produced a £315 offer which, I think is excellent for a Storm. I have heard many good things about Adrian Flux's handling of claims if things go bad. I hope never to find out. On the other hand I heard very bad things about direct line so I avoid now.

Possible Re-Spray.................Advice needed........
Storm Warning replied to NjA666's topic in Exterior
I am sending my Storm for a full respray, the old paint will be taken back, doors off, glass out etc. It will be about £2000 plus any bits I want renewing like the sunroof seal. If you have the odd bit of paint done you will need to get a very good sprayer to stand a chance of matching the paint..even then it will be hard. Oh yeah, I have been told I'll no doubt need a new screen too :-) -
I am in the process of buying a set of BBS RCs from a Guy in germany, I am doing a bank transfer. The guy has sent me a contract and a copy of his ID card! before I send the money..which I thought was pretty good. btw, can you just go into a co-op with cash to make the bank transfer or do you need an account?

£47 is only 11-12 gallons, doesn't the VR have a 15 gallon tank?
-
Only £48 to fill up at ASDA? it was 89.9 the other day and cost me 52 something...perhaps I run it too dry :-) I have just bought a 1.9TDi for a daily driver so it will be nice to not fill up every week!

BMW M5 V10 vs. Ferrari F360 Modena....Video from Istanbul...
Storm Warning replied to VWci's topic in General Car Chat
I actually love the noise they make! I prefer the look of the 360 over the 355 as I do the sound but I got to drive both and felt like I wasn't really driving the 360. -
N plate Rado, A1 South Bound near Grantham yesterday just after 4, you waved but I was too slow to notice (I was going north) Red valver parked in Caythorpe, Lincs. Black G60 on Carholme Road Lincoln (think you live there)

Late heater controls - repair tips - Update 16/11
Storm Warning replied to Kevin Bacon's topic in Interior
My direction controls have been getting increasingly stiff and I have not moved them for a month or so as I my fan packed up. Got a 2nd hand fan, nice a quiet too. Went to change the direction from 'screen' and it got to about 6 o'clock and wouldn't budge. Gently rocked it to see if it would free up. Followed by a cracking noise (what a knob I thought to myself) I now have range of movement from 6 to 1. I am hoping I have jumped teeth? does that sound likely? I have read loads of posts here but I can't see instructions for getting the unit out to inspect, can anyone help? Thanks -
I just want to enjoy my Storm, I hate putting miles but you can't have everything. You say you have FVWSH... I did until the last service. If you have love your C I suggest you take it to a VW specailist that actually knows what a Corrado is, its a hard decision to take but you won't regret it. In all honesty even if you got a Storm for £5k and it doubled in value in 10 years it is harldy a good investment. I think that the effect of inflation and the cost of keeping it running with T&T and basic service items (door handles etc ;-)) you'll not make a penny. However if you have a good C (any C) and its yours and you get enjoyment out of it then that will be priceless to you. Especially if it still working in 10 years :-) I do however like the thought that I have car that doesn't depreciate as fast as a new eurobox. I think that the prices on Storms are still dropping too, even the low mileage minters. If you want to make money from an investment, go and see your bank manager.

I have a factory fit alarm, or at least a VW branded alarm. One of the fobs started failing which I thought was battery as distance made a difference however the light always worked on the fob when the button was pressed. It one day just stopped on me, no warning (fortunatly I was at home), the light was still showing but it didn't deactivate the alarm. I put a new battery in but it still doesn't work. My spare fob is fine. Any ideas how this can be fixed? worried that I am down to one fob and the VW alarm doesn't allow key deactivation :-( Thanks.

Hi all, I am running the standard Solitudes at the moment but shortly will ave my hands on a set of 17s (BBS RCs) First thing is should I get new studs while I am at it? if so where do I get them from? Second thing is I need new locking nuts, my last ones ceased up and had to be smashed off recently. Which should I get, and where from? Many Thanks in advance
