Not a bad car by far. low miles do a lot for it and the fact it spent a lot of time on the isle of white which is only 3 square miles in total..lol. Be a good project car for someone. :thumbleft:

My son is really into the detailing of cars two bucket system when he washes his car, clay bar, more polishes and towels than halfords and he goes mad when he sees this, funny to wind him up as well. lol :smug:

I was in the Range with the Mrs at the weekend and saw this on a display playing on a small dvd screen, we have all seen them and got a shock when i watched it.

Yes Jim good idea the wax treatment. I was concerned i had a coolant leak but looking now how can coolant get into the chassis? I think not.

First thing i did was to check the carpets, they are dry.

Hi Chris , i presume it's a drain hole but where does the water come from is it from the sunroof? Not sure if there should be any water there anyway. MOT tester said it's good underneath.
-
I was looking under the car to inspect the floor pan's etc. When i spotted some water around the hole on the chassis runner on the drivers side, there is one either side. don't know if this is normal? anyone shed any light on this?

I don't think mine is working tbh. Does this mean it will damage the engine? (panicking now)

Just wanted to know who is going to Elsecar this year? There was only 4 cars from the ccgb. That reminds me will have to renew my membership.

Yes agree with Sanky, I did this on a 1984 Honda cb900, a Boldour racer model was a complete heap when i bought it and did a full nut and bolt on that. The satisfaction factor is up way in the clouds when you can say "i did that".

Very nice. Love the colour. You got on coilovers or lowering springs?

I bow to you :notworthy: and yes you are a nutter! This will be a car to be worshipped when it's done.

Wayne. Agree with all the above comments, keep at it, like i said in a earler reply, keep the faith. Your not on your own. My car which is my daily has run fault free for 2 and a bit years, and the car has 89k on the clock, then this last 2 months i have had a array of problems like Radiator letting go, replaced with new one, then leaks from the thermo housing, car breaking down twice in an hour and not starting. Ignition switch breaking, car locking me out with keys in and engine running! windscreen wiper arm breaking when i needed the wipers. I just look at the car and say well it's worth it to fix it and then start it up and think yeh you cant beat that sound. Like i have said and the other guys on the forum keep the faith.

Welcome to the forum, hope you find the car you are looking for. Your budget is healthy for a start. You should get a top motor. I must be one of the lucky ones as my car has now got 89k on the clock and had 85k when i bought it nearly 3 years ago. I paid just under 3k for it.

Chris (Vag-HaG), is a good lad will help out when you ask, i've tormented him a few times for advice (sorry Chris)can't buy that off the shelf. I have been reading this thread from the start Wayne, how much have you now spent on the car up to now? keep the faith.

Nice car, you said you taking coillies off car, what make are they how old, condition?
-
Nice work, yeh the screw is a bugger. I'm suffering now with my neck from doing the job, old age i guess.

Glad you got a pass. was in the same boat last Saturday when i took my Vr for MOT, was chuffed when he gave me a pass as well. was more bothered about him having the car running all the time it was being tested, cost me a fortune in fuel. One good thing, the new radiator etc was tested and had no issues with it over heating, which is good.

Note for future reference. Ignition switch - Part number 6N0 905 865 From the stealers are now priced at £34.43p, bought on the 10th March 2015. I think the Wiki will need updating as it is priced at a meer £12.34.
