  1. I'd be inclined to phone as many companies as possible and make sure you tell them you have the leather and its quality too, as they might try and sway you into buying theirs, and it is just a labour job only.

I had a quote for my cloth seats etc to be trimmed up in leather and it was around £600 to £700, if i remember rightly. This was at a car show last year so he might have had a offer on or just trying to get business?

Do your home work. Will look ok with the red inserts btw i have seen a car with this done.

  2. A few more pics, taken whilst i was in a empty car park.

  3. Quick up date, judjing from the monsoon rain we had here in south yorkshire last night it looks like the repair on the membrane has worked ok, no sign of water egress. :thumbleft:

Scrub that last comment...Got a leak again :tumbleweed:the sealant did not work, cant find any of the proper sealant that does not cure locally.

  4. Wife last night,"Couldn't fill up with fuel as I couldn't get the flap open"

"Okay" I say, "I'll have a quick look". Proceed to car, open fuel flap first time. "Seems to work fine"

Wife "Oh, the car needs to be unlocked to open the fuel flap?" :brickwall:

    I feel your pain sir.

 Yes. Relate to that my wife the only time she had to fill up, she could not find the lever pull in the car to open the flap, was fumbling about for nearly 10 mins and all the time getting more and more embarrassed.

finally got it open just push the flap inwards click and hey presto.

    Bless her!:bonk:

  5. Thats a good deal, i noticed on my car the wires have broke off, don't know of its worth the hassle trying to repair or just buy new? Any one ever tried to repair.

I assume they work when the heated screen is on?

  6. oopps...Thats not good. My wife's car is a T.D.I Audi and a run my VR daily, when i go and fuel the Audi i always remind myself its diesel, because every time i get in the fuel light is always on.(oh sorry i didn't have time to go to the garage). That old chest nut.

Just a thought here, is the diesel nozzle on the pump a different size so it will not fit into a petrol cars filler tube? thus telling the user there is something not right.

What has happened to the talking pumps as well? Should be standard if you ask me on a pump to remind the user what they are about to put in the tank.

We are after all human and humans will always make mistakes.:bonk:

  7. on mine i did away with the single piece and made up smaller sections per opening size from some heavy duty polythene. I think there are some pics in my car thread? That said i've been thinking about doing something that is made of some heavy plastic with a seal around the edge that screws onto the open holes.

Thats not a bad idea that.

Mine is now drying out well and no more water has come in. (touching wood) this monsoon has tested my fix.

  8. Very very nice car. Like its been mentioned white cars are usually not liked but the rado looks as cool as ever in white. Keep up the good work.

On a different note i read on this thread about keys. i had a key cut from my local key / shoe repair shop. He placed my original in a coding machine to check he had the code to which he had, then cut the key and charged £21 for it thought that was a good buy. Only draw back there is no light on the key, but not to fussed about that. Just glad to have a spare as the car decided to lock itself with engine running! 45 mins later got the door open. :bonk: :o

  9. just make sure you pay close attention to the little drain holes in the inner door skin, only bond the membrane in the groove just below them.

Opps i didn't know this. Any pics of these? Just stuck the membrane roughly where the original was.

The new membrane stuff comes in grey foam now

Replacement is now foam, will do some research to where to buy, it i think. Cheers for your input guys.

I have now just read a post on what glue to use? came across a reply saying that someone had some spare foam. what is the make of it etc...

I've got a roll of the stuff, it's a bit thicker than the OEM but does the job. How much do you need?

  10. Well i got the card off this morning thank you for the hidden screw tip in the speaker VWVW, I would have missed that tbh, cheers. Then to reveal this complete mess. I previous Bodge I think. I've made a new membrane for now, will look into getting replacements if they are still available? dunno.

Hopefully this will stop the rain coming past the door card and trickling in over the door seal.

  11. Hello,

Yep mine is my daily, but when i'm on night shift it stops in bed. Mine is misting up as everyone else's. Only the windscreen and rear window.

My car does not take long to start blowing warm air from start up. Approx 5 mins don't know if this is normal??

I've found that Cat Litter in a stocking works well to pull loads of damp from the air placed under the seats and in the boot,(check it often) i had a Mazda Eunos MK1 mx5 before the Rado and this had a major issue with damp in the winter. I had to scrape the inside of the windscreen at 4am in the morning, not good and then freeze my pips off until i got into work. :censored:

Yesterday i was hovering the car and noticed the carpet we in the drivers side foot well taking the door card off today to inspect the plastic membrane, hopefully this is the issue from my investigations.

    See my post http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=85039

  12. I think they suit the rado. good luck with the mods you want to do. You are in the right place for opinions and what is good and not..

    Thanks!

The wheels on it are some OZ ones, of my old Seat Ibiza. They were put on as a stop-gap between getting some new wheels and removing the old rims the previous owner left on them (some nasty Halfords ones).

  13. Think i might have sussed this, i put the hose on the drivers door ran water down the window and i had water running out of the door card, will be taking off the door card tomorrow to inspect the membrane. Any tips on what do do and not to do when removing the door cards? :thumbleft:

  14. Was hoovering the car today and noticed that the carpet was wet where the seat belt anchor (slider)drivers side passenger foot well (see pics). Just the carpet near the door seal was wet. I'm thinking it could be the seal its self, but i'm not sure. This was after washing the car.
