Strange as i THINK the rubber of the air filter creates a seal when the airbox is clipped together. Is the filter itself wet?Its not water getting in the front of the air box, behind the headlight is it?
Yes the filter is wet, how can it possibly get in the front of the air box, behind the headlight??
-
Hi, i have a vr6, I recently inspected the air filter and it needed to be changed but on opening the air box and removed the air filter i found it was wet on the front side. I thought it was maybe due to the old filter being well old and it was not sealing in the lid properly. I have replaced it with a new filter, washed the car but it still gets wet. looks like it is running down the wing and dripping onto the top of the box but its beyond me how it its getting into the air filter and forming a puddle in the bottom of the box. the box is standard btw.Anyone shed any light on this? :bonk:

YES sorted! Bought a replacement from GSF, after the coil pack was removed and found a 2cm crack in the body and it had rusty water stains on the joint between the bakerlight and the heat sink. Replacement was a Beru make same as what i took off price was £140.
Just glad it is back on all 6 pots now.

Today my 1995 vr6 corrado, started and the engine ran fine it was then parked up for hour and a half. it started ok but was running on only 4 cylinders, checked the HT leads etc, and they are ok. Number 3 and 4 cylinders are not getting a spark (HT leads and plugs again ok) so does this point to a faulty coil pack? if so weres the best place in the uk to get a repalcement. Also i was thinking if there is anyone in my area (Rotherham South Yorks) if they had a spare pack i could try? as i have picked up in a post on the forum sounds like a good idea, to deffo determine if it is the coil pack at fault.

Ok. I need to top up with power steering oil, its currently reading on the min mark. I have been given a bottle of LHM Mineral-based hydraulic oil and it is green, says suitable for citroens and rolls royce, and was ok for the corrado VR6. Just wanted to check before i used it if it was ok to use?

The Clubstand is outside but if you are entering the show & Shine and get there early enough you will get your car indoors but it will have to stay there till the show ends so not sure you'd want to do that with the journey you have back Daren.hI Paul, my lad has entered his Golf in the show and shine, he found out on Sunday night by seeing photo's of cars on facebook etc that cars were already inside at 9pm he had to rush his down there to get a place inside ,nearly missed out.
I'll pop down after work today, I'll come down in my raddo, let you have a look at it if you have time.
Cheers Ray.
