Porsche twists 5x130 These wheels were imported from a custom shop in Hollywood specifically for my mk2 golf, but they ended up going on my corrado g60 They are triple chromed, you cannot get these in the uk, only set i have seen in the uk! I had them on for 2 months before I found out my wife is pregnant! So I have to sell the car, no point of keeping the wheels so there going too! Volkswagen Corrado G60 1991 For Sale! I did not think i would ever sell this car, but bought only thinking about myself and how i have always wanted one and not my wifes bad back, only ment a matter of time until i was taking it out by myself became less and less. This car must be the only one in its league, just over 53,000 on the clock now and i have a full service history sat next to me with a bill for nearlly every year since it was brought brand new! In 1991 volkswagen had this car in the showroom for 3 months, the accountant for the bank of england then went into the garage and wanted a G60 to drive away that day. I have the bill of sale for that day 22nd of november 1991 where it was bought from whites wimbledon volkwagen garage for £16,000! And it didnt have any miles on the clock! Serviced at whites in- 1992 Aug- 7,333 miles 1993 Aug- 10,743 miles 1995 Sept- 16,235 miles 1996 Aug- 19,009 miles 1997 Aug- 22,661 miles 1998 July- 24,441 miles 1991 July- 25,892 miles 2000 July- 29,471 miles 2001 July- 31,392 miles Then serviced at Delta autos 2002 July- 32,401 miles 2003 July- 33,376 miles 2004 July- 35,150 miles 2005 July- 37,135 miles 2007 Aug- 44,807 miles (also full cambelt kit) 2008 July- 46,512 miles 2009 July- 49,500 miles 2010 July- 51,384 miles 2011 July- 52,244 miles (Including a full respray, bill for £2500) 2012 July- 52,522 miles Also there were many other things done as the time of the service, all on the bills, brakes, tyres, battery, extra keys, wheel bearing etc.. Also i have many of the mots, i wouldnt say all but i have over 15! So as im sure you can see the owner looked after this car very well, as of 2011 he decided he wanted to sell it, offered it to a few close friends but didnt want to sell it to a stranger who could ruin the car! In october 2012 he used it to go and pick something up and sadly had a small accident and decided he really didnt want the car and more as he was getting to old to drive it, this is when i bought it from the insurance company (so sadly the accident was recorded on the register) I then bought another corrado 16v to use for parts, i replaced the bumper, bonnet, headlights, doors, wings (which took me AGES to source totally solid ones with no rust at all) i then got the front end resprayed (the back end is still like brand new so didnt need doing) I done this car for me to keep for a long time so i dont it to a very very high standard, i am a fully qualified mechanic, i have worked on vws for 6 years and no them inside out! As i had another car nothing was missed at all, anything else i sourced and found, everything apart from the passengers outer wing mirror triangle which it requires, if i get one before i will fit no problem. So basically this car is like a time warp, i mean it still has the first aid kit in the back which is unopened! Try and find one of them! The seat had a slight rip, so i bought another seat to use the same material and got it professorially repaired, it is mint! Only mods i have done is rolled the rear arches and put the porsche twists on with adapters, 20mm on the front and 43mm on the back and a set of coilovers. Now the price is £3995 with the porsche twists (imported from a custom wheel shop in hollywood) and adapters Or £3495 with the original BBS alloys which were fitted when it was new The porsche wheels are triple chromed 17 inch and not a common thing to see! i would sell these separate! My phone number is 07885427021 Take your chance to own a piece of history It has tax for 4 months and i will get 12 months mot on it for the buyer. Very sad to see it go but as is life! Many thanks! PX'S CONSIDERED

Early corrado dash, can post if needed!
Jonathan Claxton replied to Jonathan Claxton's topic in Parts for Sale
All ready to go if needed! -
And where the pads touch the carrier obviously, there should be no paint there just copper slip A little bit of oil will help them slip in but no grease
-
Selling an early corrado dash board, with no switches or anything, its grey and in good condition. Couple of little holes where someone has screwed something like a hands free Only want £20 for it, if you want it posted let me know and I can get a quote Cheers

Iv done a set if these, there are little metal c clips, if you take them off carefully you can put them back on in the same place easily, as long as you put them all back how they come off you can't go wrong, take it slow and look all round properly for where l the clips are, and it needs a pop rivet putting back in.

Coolant loss and light, and oil pressure buzzer
Jonathan Claxton replied to J-ME's topic in Engine Bay
It might not be, but with the 2 faults at the same time, I'd say it is. -
Coolant loss and light, and oil pressure buzzer
Jonathan Claxton replied to J-ME's topic in Engine Bay
Sounds like head gasket, what you have to remember is that's not a oil level low light, but an oil pressure low light. So it's saying you have poor oil pressure, does the car smoke a lot? Can you see any signs of water leaking from your car? Also is there any water in the oil? There doesn't have to be as it could be blowing straight past a bore. I does sound like that anyway -
Buying a donor car for a 24v conversion?
Jonathan Claxton replied to Jim Bowen's topic in Engine Bay
I bought a smashed up mk4 1.8 20v turbo for a engine conversion, broke the car and made £1000 profit from it, car cost a lot less then that, and then you have everything you need, it's the best way I think -
We only ever replace tho whole wishbone, ball joint and all, I think iv replace a couple and there not too bad, cutting through and then hammer the new ones in
-
A company called tps and gsf, they may be one of those 2 in your area.
-
4 bolts that hold the rack to the subframe, they have nuts on the top so they are a bit of a pain, and leave the rack hanging, better then taking it off cause with the fluid and steering coloum it's a real night mare, obviously the bottom ball joints need to come out, with a ball joint splitter there easy, and I'm not sure if the vr6s have an engine mount on the subframe to be honest, iv done g60s and 16v but not a vr, if it does then jack the engine up on the sump with a block of wood and undo it, then the 4 large main bolts that go into the chassis, 2 at the front which you need massive extensions for and 2 at the back which you don't, only ever done one not on a ramp, then engine was out and it was still a night mare, good luck!

Panels wanted- n/s sill, rear (quarter) wheel arch
Jonathan Claxton replied to wapadrand's topic in Wanted
I have these parts mate if interested you can pm me -
That far? I once delivered an engine to Newcastle and it took only 7 hours round trip, if you put a picture of a rado with the parts you want circled, I could look into postage for you?
-
I have these parts, obviously you would have to collect tho, if you wanted you could remove them so you get the exact size you need
-
I don't know why it says that because it is clearly contradicted here Check the presence and condition of all visible ABS and ESC system components. Here An ABS or ESC system component obviously missing or excessively damaged. And here does not illuminate And as I work at a garage with an mot station I know we would fail it on that issue, which we have done before, and then it's a big job to rectify wonce removed
-
When you clock on for an mot they give you a print out sheet with things specific to that car, so if it was fitted with abs from standard it would say on this sheet and would tell you how long the light should come on for before going off, so if the light doesn't come on at all, and it says it should for 3-5 seconds then that would be a fail. As the bulb has obviously been removed.

1.8 16v g reg gearbox and engine bottom end
Jonathan Claxton replied to Jonathan Claxton's topic in Parts for Sale
I do, I'm on holiday ATM at back in the 11th, if you pm me in the 11th I will have a look at we can sort out a price, many thanks -
No I mean a spike in the system not a fault, if you have tried the battery then there is Deffo a fault in the system, may be a dodgy sensor or a broken abs ring etc, needs investigating
-
Nope, unless you can find a dodgy garage to pass it in mot, not a good idea tho
