Ive got a mocal 13row forsale, dropped my temps by 10degrees
-
Yeah,as long as they havent touched the cam to cam timing
-
If your needing to run mega advance to get it to go,it sounds like the belts out 1 or 2 teeth. Check all the timing marks line up,then turn dizzy clockwise until running sweet. Try it round block and check for pinking,if it pinks, retard it slightly
-
yeah thats cool,il dig it out and go from there. I want to get it sorted for ya so you can see the benifits it has when done properly!
-
yep always be 6 degrees out,the chainwheel i have here is on a cam already modded but both are up for grabs
-
Much to some peoples disgust, heres mine
-
Against my relegion,i fitted 1 to mine yesturday. Definatly lost torque in the mid range and i find when you change from 1st to 2nd it takes a while longer before the engine picks up again. Mine was heavily ported and polished aswell, proberly more suited to a 2l as they have more torque to compensate?
-
as far as i know no soldering needed
-
Nah got a 2l now! You cant use the mod without the chainwheel as it will be 6 degrees out which is bad. I have a chainwheel here which you just press on and all the original marks will line up and you will have silky smooth idle and huge power increase! If you dont want to go that route then this is what it should look like without the modded chainwheel at tdc
-
Are you using the modified chainwheel which corrects the timing allowing you to use the standard timing marks? Sounds like your a tooth out of cam to cam timing Just to rub it in,mine flys from 2k then goes mental at 3.5k and again at 5k!
-
Mine does this really bad as my oil never gets up to temp as i have a 13 row mocal and drive 10mins each day! drove 300 miles the otherday and that cleared it
-
that exhaust cam cant be fitted properly if it doesnt come in till 5k mine comes in at 2k, Reckon when the head was taken off,it wasnt timed properly when it was refitted hence the bad running

I always said," if i lose performance from my wheels,il just spend more money on my engine to counter-act it"
-
Ive always been told that due to the circumfrance of 17"s you lose acceleration. Im currently running 17"s but am thinking of fitting 16"s,will i notice a difference? Also read that weight of the wheels is a factor aswell???

torque is for tractors!!!!!!!!!!!

Andy,go 16v/g60 proberly just the same cost but more benifit?

Indicator lives are normally black/green?
-
but theres power leaving the headlight switch?
-
wheres the dipped beam realy or what number is it?
-
Had a look at iowcorrados car today as his dipped beam doesnt work. Theres power coming out of the switch, but none at the bulbs? Any ideas?
-
bring it on,il post a pic of my mrs if you do :offtopic1:
-
those pics arent relays and when you took me in your car it didnt seem like you had the uprated loom as lights werent that good? Drive it over to me on sunday if you can, and il have a look If your completly stuck can come to you?

i ported a throttle body not a head.you want a slighly ruff surface on the inlet to cause turbulence but polished on exhaust to prevent carbon buildup.
