Your always on a mission arent you!
-
They are ok,go better with a dmtl webber carb and a gti cam, also worth fitting a gti exhaust manifold and full system. Make sure you get 1 for a mk1 golf gti though.
-
Cheesy had an engine in the forsale section?
-
You put an 8v box in a 16v and you will get better economy in 5th but thats it.
-
Try disconnecting the black/red wire by the coil, then set the tick over via the screw to about 1000rpm Im running mine without an isv at the moment
-
the 8v box ratios are indentical except 5th gear so hes talking poo. Also golfs are rod change and corrados are cable change
-
I would also like a proper asnwer on how to adjust them as ive had my box out anfd now it doesnt change as nice
-
Im betting its the big pipe that goes on the bottom of the induction tube

it would be a 6a cam,The cam will need cutting down to the same length as the inlet cam and you will need to trim a bit off the dizzy drive. Then get a modded chainwheel fitted to correct timing
-
Stealth used to use the 2 exhaust cam trick on there 16v turbos so it should be ok?
-
cant see how people bash there sump, mines down 90mm and have never done it
-
this give u a clue
-
No corrado came with 50mm,only golfs approx 88-92
-
all 2l came with 42mm manifolds so will be straight swop for what you already have
-
Didnt get a chance to fit it as ive ripped the engine out ready for the 2l
-
both interchangable though as i have late bonnet on early car with no probs
-

Im sure some of you are aware of a chap named ian who can modify vr6 throttlebodys by machining and fitting a larger butterfly. Ive just had a 16v 1 done by him and the work is amazing! I sent him my spare tb,he bored it out then fitted a 3mm larger second butterfly. He had it done and returned to me in just a few days 8) Since ive had it back, ive match poted the 2 halfs together, shaved the spindle down in the small butterfly and fitted counter-sunk screws. When i flowed the front half,i took into consideration that the air doesnt hit the tb straight on on a 16v,so i shaped the divider for this and knife edged the divider between the ports. Its not completly finished yet as i need to fit shorter screws in the second port and polish the whole thing but heres the pics so far Ian can offer a similar service for £120,this gets you your tb machined out and the larger butterfly his emal is mailto:[email protected]

then your screwd
-
just use the vr6/golf mk3 gti cv joints
-
Keep your eyes peeled in the engine section for my new 16v throttlebody that i should be getting tommorrow. Will post pics as soon as i get it
-
i did it a while ago with no probs but thought if i ever needed to rmove a lead,id have to take manifold off
-
