Woohoo, met up with Ian (alpina527) last night and got myself a big bore throttle body from him, very nice piece of work and a really good bloke, recommended. James

These are the quoted prices I got from Vince a couple of weeks ago. Stealth Remaps are £275 + vat, if your original chip is soldered in, or £250 + vat if it is the socketed type. Planning for my baby to go to Stealth in May for the fitting of chains, a clutch, 263 cams, a six branch manifold and a remap. Before she goes I will also be fitting a big bore throttle body and replacing my RamAir filer with a BMC CDA. Should be interesting to see the before and after plats and will post up results when she comes back. James

Talking of starter motors, does anyone know where I can find a written procedure for removing a starter from a VR? Cheers James

When the brackets broke on my shield I went out and purchased some realy long jubilee clips, think I eventually joined two together, then I ran it over the cat and down through the vents on the shield and tightened it up as tight as possible, rattle sorted. James

Glad to hear you got it sorted, looks like I'm going down to my local stealership tomorrow to get one. Fingers crossed it works for me! James

Has anyone got an indoor car cover? As the C will be sorned and garaged over the winter I as thinking of getting one of these: http://www.carcoverzone.co.uk/volkswage ... p-993.html Any comments welcome, James

Cool, thick moment over now. Intermitantly my VR will turn over and fire then cut straight out, it will do this until I catch the revs with the throttle but if I put my foot on the throttle whilst turning her over she still stalls, have to let her fire then catch the revs? James

OK Stupid question of the day: If you change the ignition switch does that mean a new ignition key?
-
I'll ultimately get a re-map (the plan is to have this done if I have new cams fitted if the new group buy for cams goes ahead) but will a VR run OK if the original throttle is exchanged for a big bore throttle and isn't re-mapped? Cheers James

Contacted Alpina and he still does big bore throttle bodies so will be arranging purchase next week. Many thanks Supercharged for supplying his name. James
