  1. Hi guys Having owned 2 Corrado VR6's in the past I know that you guys are the most helpful bunch compared to the other VW forums out there :D I've now got a Mk4 Golf Cabrio. I only received one transponder key with the car and now I've purchased a Keyless Entry sytem from RightClick. It's perfect for when you already have central locking, but want a flip-key remote. They have excellent support, a wide range of remote styles to choose from and I thoroughly recommend them. It looks like this: http://www.rclick.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=50&products_id=671 Anyway I've moved the transponder into the remote and it starts the car fine and everything. To get a new transponder key is going to cost about £100 what with ordering a new key and getting it programmed. So I want to fit the transponder to the car so it's permanently there and then I can use any of my two flip keys to start the car (or indeed the original key minus transponder). I know that you need to to tape the transponder to the transponder loop that sits at the entrance to the ignition. I have held it in place (as if it were in the key) and started the car fine, but as soon as I remove the loop from the ignition and try to start the car it cuts out. Has anyone done this ? Is there a certain position that is favoured ? Many thanks in advance. Long live the Corrado !
  2. No it's for a friend's Corrado. It's automatic ... want to convert to manual. Can it be done, how much etc Eug
  3. Is it possible ? How much would it cost ? Is it worth it ? Thanks in advance
  4. Yes. Audi first plans to unleash a S3 with a FSI tuned version of the current 3.2 engine pushing out 280 BHp. Then the smallest RS Audi to be created will be unveiled. Following tradition it will be a bi-turbo'ed version of the S3 and push out some 350 BHp !
  5. Corrado's are cool 8) Ever thought about supercharging / turbo'ing your VR6 ?

    Corrado on TV?!

I cannot seem to open this file. I'm using Quicktime 6.5.1. Is there another program I can use or do I need to download any codecs ? Got DivX 5.11, Media Player 10, RealOne Player ...
  7. I've got a pir of 17" TT wheels for sale (as in my signature pic) with the correct size tyres ie 205/40/17: Click HERE The thing to remember is that as long as the toital diameter of the wheels is as near to standard as possible then there won't be any difference to speed etc. These TT wheels fit directly on to a VR6 and I didn't need no spacers or nothing man !
  8. Let's face it - if Seat made a 2-door Cupra R with an automatic spoiler then it's be damn close to resemlbing a Corrado. But with smoother lines and a more rounded body/nose. I'd buy one.
  9. 17" are perfect - they look big without the hard ride of the 18". What you really need is a set of polished 17" TT alloys taken from another VR6 ... Click here for more
  10. I fitted the same buzzer. 2 choices ... 1) Remember to turn the lights off before you exit the vehicle 2) Get hold of a buzzer from a breaker from a car which has a nice bong bong sound
  11. I used to ride a Monster Henny and it was my first big bike after riding a 125cc for a few months upon completion of my CBT. They are so easy to ride as a first bike and have lots of low-down power which makes round-town riding a doddle. Mine was only a 600 ... but with carbon-fibre sliencers ... that sound ...
  12. Very nice mate ... very nice indeed. I do like those black rims. Looks like they're dirty but hey - least you don't have to clean them all the time !
  13. Yeah just put a VR6 engine in. Seems a waste to buy a 16V and then spend £3K extra - could always sell the 16V and use the extra £3K to buy a VR6 or a G60 rather ?

    accident

Sorry to hear about the unfortunate  Never liked those hocus Focuses. Dude - you gots to get you some bigger wheels ! Fancy some 17" polished TT alloys ...

    PLEASE READ.

You did insure it against theft ... didn't you :?:
  16. I forgot to declare my 3 points when I took out my Corrado insurance because they were issued while I was riding my motorbike. Overtook a cop car but that's besides the point. Trunky charged me another £170 extra when I declared them afterwards
  17. I had the TT 6-spoke 17" alloys on my VR6 and didn't need any spacers. Perhaps Andi could confirm this since he has the 9-spokes too. Best tyres are 205/40/17 to keep the rolling radius as near to standard as possible.

    window tints?

Cute 8) What I would do on my next C is get the same sort of light smoke that comes out on the new Minis. It has a kind of greenish tint to it, like the Ray Ban lenses. Don't know what it's called though. I've seen light smoke that is brownish too, and of course blackish light smoke.
  19. Being a fellow South African myself, may I kindly point out that this scam in fact originated from Nigeria, which places it firmly in North African territory. A different kettle of fish those North Africans. Not to confused with South Africans where they'll just point a gun to your head at a traffic light to get your car. None of this send me cheque bullsh*t
  20. Sorry to hear that Henny. On the bright side it does leave room for an "upgrade" of sorts ... But what I really would like to know is what can actually cause such a thing to happen on such a newish engine :?:
  21. Not yet. Twilight Violet one sold yesterday. Deciding between another Corrado or World Tour ...
  22. Still planning ... might be time for a winter World Tour. Recently discovered snowboarding at the indoor Milton Keynes slope. Blagged my way in there cos you have to be able to demonstrate the minumum standards ie heel edge, toe edge and linking your turns otherwise you have to go for lessons first. Been three times now and my style has been described as oldschool 70's downhill skateboarding. I've got a Sector 9 downhill board which is coated in fibre-glass so it's flexes. Combine that with my wakeboarding experience and I picked up snowboarding pretty quickly I think.
  23. Yeah sometimes you've got to call their bluff and say your best quote was £100 less than the cheapest quote. I mean if they were only going to charge you 400 and your best quote so far was say 600, then they can charge you 500 and you both score. Still the biggest legal con artists in the world I tell ya
  24. All sorted now - Elephant increased their offer so I can now go and buy another one in the same condition 8) And the bit about my policy being cancelled ? Good news is that as a "goodwill gesture" they've given me a rebate if I decide to insure with them again. If I get another Corrado VR6 in the same condition and worth the same, they'll only charge me £360 for a new policy  Cool thing is it's a 10-month policy which means I can clock up my first 1-year NCB sooner. Good chaps them Elephants. It's easy. It's fast. It's Elephant.co.uk.
