bcstudent 0 Posted January 30, 2005 Very tidy. It looks like the driver's door has dropped a little.
JT 0 Posted January 30, 2005 thanks, funny you should say that i only noticed it properly when i took the photo but i am right in thinking they can be adjusted, can't they!!!
Jim 2 Posted January 30, 2005 Tidy MK2 mate! Need to get some nice euro style wheels on there now - the MK2 was made for that kind of look :)
M777CUSGTI 0 Posted January 30, 2005 Very tidy. It looks like the driver's door has dropped a little. Seems so, common problem with the mk2 because the doors are soo heavy  Looks very nice JT, as Jim says, get some nice Euro wheels on there, seeing great example like that make me want a MK2 16V again, quality motors, best GTI VW ever did
JT 0 Posted January 30, 2005 cheers guys, i must admit it's a crack to drive!!! but yeah i agree totally need to get sime nice euro wheels on there, problem is it's just time to sort it out can anyone reccomend a good place to go shopping :?:
JT 0 Posted January 30, 2005 for wheels that is !!!
OSV 0 Posted January 30, 2005 Looks a good car, reminds me of my Black 16v MK2. I think i'd swap the wheels and the interior and keep it a more stock looking classic.
JT 0 Posted January 30, 2005 i hear what your saying but i was never a fan of the original interior unless it was the full leather recaro but they are like hens teeth in the mk2 so it does'nt bother me and these have been fitted properly all the electrics work etc but i would like to change the wheels ..... RadoAds 0 Posted January 30, 2005 What are the seats out of by the way??
samm_cvr6 0 Posted January 30, 2005 nice MK2, I would save the cash and maybe get a 20VT lump? I like the factory wheels, As an all round car the MK2 16V was the best hot hatch I ever had but for fun, the 205 had it.
JT 0 Posted January 30, 2005 the seats are out of a ford probe believe or not the back bench is in there too which is a nice touch, i was thinking maybe a 2.8 vr instead of a 20v but what would you guys suggest....
Corrado911 0 Posted January 30, 2005 Great choice JT. I use to have a 92' GTI 16V a few years ago, boy do I miss it. But I had to sell it cause it was giving me electrical problems, and I really didn't feel like spending much money on it plus insurance was just as expensive as the Corrado. Besides that the motor was strong and the body was in great condition. I really wish I didn't sell it, gave it the TLC it deserved and stored it somewhere till I could afford to fix it. I would of went with the 20v since it a lighter motor, I think the vr is a bit to heavy and it would take away from the handling aspect. Great car mate, enjoy it and please don't make the same mistake I made buy selling it. The body looks great. Corrado.
JT 0 Posted January 30, 2005 cheers buddy, to be honest my plan is to keep it until the engine get to the point of no return, and i reckon by then a 20v lump would'nt to much of exspensive option, saying that it's only on 110,000 so it's got a lot of life in her yet, but yeah this is my first mk2 and i have top say it's just keeps putting a smile on my face very happy :D
gradeAfailure 0 Posted January 30, 2005 I'd say definitely go with the euro look, there's some BBS splits and Borbet As on ohBoy at the mo - click on the "Worldwide" button though as there's some good bargains to be had in Germany... Just realised I'm shooting myself in the foot there as euro rims are exactly what I'm looking for! D'oh!
Bally 0 Posted January 31, 2005 looks sweet.. what seats are they?
chrishill 0 Posted January 31, 2005 very nice! The more i see mk2's with the badgeless 2-light grilles the more i like them. I've got to agree with what everyone else is saying though, I'd change the wheels to something more Euro. Those would look nice on a mk4, but the mk2 needs something more classic. _leon_ 0 Posted January 31, 2005 very nice mk2 tbh. love them in black. though would agree it can only be improved by changing the wheels and the seats :) keep us posted !
JT 0 Posted January 31, 2005 bally, the seats are out of a ford probe, totally agree with all of you that those wheels need to be replaced with somethin more classic just gonna have to wait untill i get some more work, but hey gives me enough time to make up my mind what i want to put on there, anyone got any suggestions on what would look good and not to much money if you know what i mean!!! something no bigger than 16" tho :?:
JT 0 Posted February 4, 2005 is anyone any good with photoshop would like to see what a set of original 15"x6 bbs would look like instead....
Rustynuts 0 Posted February 4, 2005 Nice motor, having had 3 Mk2's I can vouch that they are great cars. BBS splits or something like RC's look the best on Mk2's in my opinion.
JT 0 Posted March 21, 2005 well after sortin out small problems like new rear calipers, new exhaust, new radiator, new steering, original gear knob and some new wheels i've finally got her the way i want her and thought you guys might like to see....
