Had to move mine at work today so a delivery lorry could get into our loading bay, when I came back the east european driver asked me if the red corrado was mine so I said yes, he then asked if it was a G60 and said it looked to be in good condition. He told me about how when he was a kid growing up in Hungary they were the car to have and a real status symbol because only the rich could afford them. Made my otherwise dull day slightly more interesting.

Went to drive off from Morrisons in cheadle on saturday whilst with the missus and the GF says stop, look round and a bloke has called out to her i goes to wind down the window and a bloke in his 50's says "Nice car, have you had it long?", to which i reply yes about four years. He then says he has a G60 pushing 220bhp and we start chatting about the poor head lighting and flaws that the corrado has but also the plus' too. i give a quick mention to the forum to which he says hes a member of and also give a mention to D&G Autotech as he was travelling down to Jabba everytime he needed work doing (fair do's Jabba are g60 specialists). Anyway Made my day

Giving the car a clean inside and out today. Was just applying the new Poorboys wax ive just got (hmmm nice smell of strawberries) whilst having a chat to the guy who lives over the road. Car drives down street and stops and shouts nice car, is it a VR? He was loving it.

The guy over the road said "he's always washing it" :lol (its true), but got a response of "its good he's looking after it"

:D

Very pleasant and suprising chuftie tonight.

Pulled up outside my trusty mechanics garage to pick up the gfs lupo after the dreaded MOT (it failed but only for a couple of bulbs and a tyre), Parked my C behind another C which was being seen by the Doctor. Was waiting inside for the bill when a older man and woman pulled up to pick their car up. Had the older bloke come in to ask if mine was the C and i said which one. He said "the nice one" haha.

To be fair the other C was rather scruffy, needed tidying up and the daft exhaust taking off. But still, i do try keep mine in good shape.

Was really complementary of my car and i obviously looked after the car. Got a handshake for it :D

Nice bloke :D

Had a couple of chufties last wknd which was nice!!

I was at Maccy D's after just watching Sucker Punch with the bird and my little sister, waiting in one of the bays for our grub. This lad in an Audi (not sure which one, one of the small tall hatchbacky weird looking ones) pulled up next to me, and wound down his window. I looked at him, put mine down, and he just said "alright mate?" so I was like "ummm, yeh are u?" lol. Then he went on to say he loves 'rados and used to own a G60 on D90's etc etc and was loving mine! Told him bout the low mileage and leather recaro's and I could see he was gutted he didn't have his rado anymore ha! Was a funny experience as well coz he was quite random but so much detail u had to be there!!

Then when I was washing him before I took some photos a neighbours friend parked up and came over complimenting and asking about it and if I wanted to sell! I accepted the compliments but told him no! Made my day :)

Had one on Friday at a job interview. On my CV it mentions in my hobbies being a car enthusiast and the interviewer asked what my last project was to which I replied with "A Corrado Vr6" "Ah yes, Volkswagen. Was it one of those V6 ones?" Had a wee chat about it too.

Later on in the interview he mentioned the fact the job comes with a company car and added "So we won't be getting any complaints from clients about you showing up in your noisy V6 all the time!" :D

Just went to do my shopping and came out to start loading up the car. A chap walks over and says "Nice car.. are you thinking of selling?" - he then proceeds to say he's looking for something for his son who's 21.. I point out that it's a group 18 so probably not a good idea! :) But we continued to chat about old VW's for a bit before he tootled off.

First chuftie I've had in about 4 years!

Was fitting a drastically overdue rear wiper blade @ Halfords last week. Could hear a couple of people from behind a van walking towards us and them saying "Wow, that's a nice looking car" and someone else "Yeh, it's a Corrado, VR6 - nice"

When they walked round past the van and saw me they gave me the thumbs up and complimented it again! Loving it!

First ever chuftie this morning. Went to halfords to see if they had any suitable exhaust rubbers (optimistic I know). Walk back over to my car to check the fit and a bloke walks over to my car for a nose. He's got a Mk2 GTi and said my car looked very nice and asked if it was a G60.

Nice to see someone else who appreciates these cars, shame it was so filthy!

Nice one tonight: after a full working day and a dash home, had to go back up to Brum to go to a prep school's senior school choices evening to man my school's stand. Cue nearly losing my voice in two and a half hours of selling the school to prospective parents and answering about a billion questions about the entrance exam etc.

However, on going back to the car and loading up our stand's stuff into it, the last other person in the car park, one of the parents, comes over to admire the VR and turns out to be a huge enthusiast. When he started with "Lovely stuff: I had five of these once!" I must confess I thought he was a billy buller but it turned out he obviously had, since he REALLY knew his stuff, having had a Storm, another VR, two G60s and a 16v (all at different times). Cue a good old chat about the car and me leaving with a massive grin on my face.

Seems the car was chuffed too as it absolutely flew down the back lanes to the motorway...

Hope he sends his kid to our school: clearly an intelligent family!

I was washing the car today...

Bloke: Nice Corrado

Me: Cheers

-Is it a V6

-Yeah

-I've always wanted one of those. It's the same engine as in the new V6 isn't it?

-(not too sure which 'new V6'...) Ummm, no, it's the original VR6, the later V6s were modified versions evolving on the original design. This one's only got 12 valves for example

-Really? I thought it would have been 16 valve?

-(facepalm)

 did you point out his mathmatical mistake?

As he probably didn't know what valves were, I didn't see the point in trying to explain he couldn't have had 2.666666666666666666666666666666666666666666... valves per cylinder!

Had my best chufty ever tonight on the way home from work. Pulled up at the lights next to a DeLorean, driver looks over at the Corrado and says to me "Lovely car mate, bet it's quick. Would definitely have mine up to 88".

I collected my new roof trims from the VW garage today. While talking to one of the salesmen he seemed to love them. Then as I was sitting in the car ready to leave, it rumbled into life and another of the salesmen gave a big smile and a thumbs up as he walked past :)

Went to the National Golf MK2 OC meet last weekend. The Corrado got a lot of love and won the 'Best other VAG' category in the show and shine.

Was not too impressed though when one of the guys organising the show and shine called it a Scirocco though..

Got a couple today which was nice after the pain in the ass she usually is.

First was from the guy I bought the seats off in Bristol. Said it was a lovely color and looks really nice

Second was from my aunty you used to own a blue VR6 before she rolled it and ended up on her roof. :bonk:

But was the first time she had been in a Corrado since she done that and loved the noise it made :afro:

Does having three drinkers stop, stare and point as you drive past their pub count?
