BigTartanJudge 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Hey all, I would appreciate some opinions on these new-style badges I have got hold of for my C, Cheers, BigEastSideTartanTimmeh
dinkus 10 Posted March 15, 2005 Well apart from the Kompressor badge being a Mercedes one, they're quite good. I'd still rather have the originals tho...
chrishill 0 Posted March 15, 2005 unless you've actually got a kompressor on it! where did the 'corrado' letters come from? they look like a Seat font to me...couple of cordoba (spelling??) badges?
gibber 0 Posted March 15, 2005 I did sumat similar to mine, and then when I came on here I found a pic of it in what not to do to a corrado, it does look a bit much!
Jim 2 Posted March 15, 2005 Well Kompressor is german for supercharger so.. technically its correct. Nice and modern though..
dinkus 10 Posted March 15, 2005 Well yeah, if you're speaking Mercedes, then "Kompressor" is a supercharger, so that's ok, but the font is still Mercedes ;)
Henny 0 Posted March 15, 2005 not keen on the Kompressor badge, but the others look good... 8) wouldn't put 'em on my car though, I'm after the street sleeper look... ;)
gibber 0 Posted March 15, 2005 See what I mean?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 15, 2005 I've seen the Kompressor badge on a MK2 Golf G60 (white) and it looked daft to be honest. I dunno, maybe it's just me but that kind of thing is just gonna get chavs trying to race you all the time.....
gibber 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Can I ask you where you got the New style G60 from thoBigEastsideTartanTimmeh? I could do with one of them when I drop my G60 in my mk4 cabrio
Henny 0 Posted March 15, 2005 G from GTI, 6 from 1.6, 0 from 2.0 That's my bet anyway... ;)
gibber 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Henny I had worked that way out, just looks like he bought it done!
Henny 0 Posted March 15, 2005 gibber, yeah, I'm just in a funny mood... sorry...
CazzaVR 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Much prefer the originals. Don't really see the point of badging a car with stuff from other marques/models :? Looks a bit naff when a C is kitted out in Wolfsburg, Porsche and Audi badges etc IMHO.
BigTartanJudge 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Yeah cheers guys for the comments. I bought the G60 made up badge by indeed buying Mk4 Golf, 1.6 and 2.0 badges. The Corrado one was made from two Seat Cordoba badges and the Kompressor one, as we all know, comes from Merc C / E-class models. Not sure whether to put them on or not. I might be persuaded to sell the G60 one tho' for a good price, as it would save you from buying three sets of badges gibber ? (think it cost me £18ish for the three ), Cheers, BigEastSideTartanTimmeh
Phil K 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Think the 'A' in Corrado looks to much like the 'R' so at a glance it looks like it says CORRRDO or COAAADO... shame though as an updated badge would look nice on the back of a C but these look worse than the orriginals IMO
bristolbaron 11 Posted March 15, 2005 Not keen on 3 different fonts together, looks clumsy IMO. Saw a Rallye last year with Kompressor badge changed to Impressor - made me smile, but i'm sure it's not original!
Yandards 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Indeed, bring out the GiT badges again :) Like the G60 badge but it is a VW descendant wearing it, not keen on the kompressor badge though.
gibber 0 Posted March 16, 2005 BigEastsideTartanTimmeh wot do you conside to be a good price? The guy who owned it before me, badged it up as a GTi so I am a 3rd of the way there.
Rossco 0 Posted March 17, 2005 Ive gone for the old chop up supercharged to make charged up, i rekon thats ace plus it looks like its meant to be there
potatonet 0 Posted April 10, 2005 if they would make a CORRADO in mk4 style I might do it, I would have to do all of the badges tho.
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted April 10, 2005 Plagiarizing Guy Hartley me thinks I thought of doing it too! Chris
