De-wipered the tailgate - or at least VAG-hag did! [i just supplied the car and passed the tools.]

Many thanks for the bung Fay - just the ticket.

Every time I go to garage for gardening stuff, I just stand back and gawp - makes so much difference.

I'm amazed it wasn't a dealer option to take t' wiper off!

More than welcome to. Are there many meets organised in the Yorkshire region, haven't really seen any threads about them.

I think I'm going to VW Fest in Leeds, might have a place on the Lowdown stand.

Old Postie was a regular meeting place for the Yorkshire section on my corsa forum, but when everyone from SYorks stopped coming we moved it up to XScape at Castleford as it was loads closer for all of us

Is there a regular like monthly meet or anything like that, or does someone just spontaneously post a thread

Did it have the water retention properties of a collinder?

Say Wompa - cool bay you got there.

`

sweet looking car!

Just a query - obviously looks wise, the bonnet removed is very cool, but any gain or improvment to the running of the car? Less heat in the bay = healthier engine?? Not a long term thing needless to say, what with weather etc

Fitted new rear wheel bearings and cast a general eye over other MOT-able parts. Nothing looks too diabolical.

As I've been having a bit of a problem with stuttering when cold (Runs fine when warmed up a bit, about a mile) I fitted new plugs, plug leads, dizzy cap. Did a compression test with the following results No 1-11.5, No 2-12.5, No 3- 11.5, No 4 11.5 bar. Not sure why 2 is higher, maybe the cylinder was a bit wet. I'll give them another check after a few runs and a good belt down the motorway. How are these figures generally, the engine has done 189,000 miles? Discovered a crack in the rubber elbow that connects the final bit of the air intake to the throttle body which may just explain the stuttering.

Went to the local stealers only to be told they are obsolete. The part number on mine 027 133 649 D doesn't exist and should be 027 133 643 apparently. Bugger.

Also ordered a set of the plastic seat runner clips while I was there.

I love this car, don't know why, I just do.
