Replaced Earth Lead from bonnet > bulkhead plus new expansion tank - Flushed rad and topped up with G12++

Is that strap actually needed? Mine fell apart!

 

Not sure, I guess VW fitted it for a reason? The original had nearly broken at the bonnet hinge end, hence the reason I replaced it.

Is it used for the heated washers? I cant rember if they have their own earth or use the bonnet.

Where did you get the strap from matey? Do you have part number?

done a couple of things last few daays keyless entry with flip key all sorted and working now yay , and also new gear knob and gator that lights up like the e46 m3 looks good :clap:

This weekend I have fitted the flocked dash and fitted some new seats 8)

any pics?

 

 

Will try and sort some at the weekend when there is a bit of daylight :salute:

Ordered it from VW, was about £9.00ish + Vat. Will post Part Nr later today after work.

Gave her a weekend wash and wax in honour of her birthday, which is Wednesday. It will be 16 years since her first registration. :new-bday:

I will get one ordered tomorrow.

 

I have managed to save my self some money by spending some time on my current bonnet latch, after reading the horror story on here, I've manipulated it and given it plenty of lube over the last couple of days and its now good as new! will continue to manipulate and lube over the next few days!

Today I've ordered:

 

Oil cooler gasket / seal, sump gasket, bonnet earth strap.

 

I'll also give my bonnet latch another lube!

busy day on "C" today,firstly changed ignition switch ,no little brass screw holding switch in as described in knowledge base guide which made it a piece of cake(don't know if this good or bad,seems to sit secure,maybe someone will let me know)seems to be starting ok will wait and see,next took out"rsj"kneebars,anybody want them would make nice bookends or shelf brackets :) :) ,then fitted 4"x6" jbl to replace orginal speakers,nice sound,very satsifying day
