i tinted my headlights. :D

Recommended Posts

started out just wanting to clean them inside and out,the amount of crap was unreal! and it made things real difficult as the 3rd screw(one through front panel)holding the headlight was absolutely rusted to hell with no head on it!

anyway, just wondering if ive done this correctly

should i do the line inbetween the high/low beams in black?

was wondering weather the marker pen! would get in the nicks properly?

cheers,neil.

see here!

gradeAfailure, i used smoothrite myself if that helps, i think i stole the idea from kevhaywire??

the 3rd screw was a knightmare!

ended up just prising/pushing/pulling the headlight out, looks like its been plastic welded before too.

Looks good mate, Im glad I told you how to do it

I did mine a while ago and tried marker pen first but it wasn’t very good so ive now used Hammerite smooth.

Ive coloured the strip in between the lights cos i thought it looked a bit odd when i first did them without, but that’s just personal taste.

Did this simple but effective mod myself tonight and am well chuffed, it looks good against the dark paintwork. I used a very thin brush with a small bottle of black industrial metal marker and it worked a treat, looks better with the dividing line painted too 8)

looks great on the red too 8)

how come its a lot more noticeable than on mine?

is it just the dividing line?

or have i not covered enough of the reflector?

neil.

Just do the dividing line and see if that makes any difference, I don't think you'll need to paint anymore around the reflector, unless you just want to give it another coating

Did mine a while back. I used plasticote black gloss.. its like hobby paint I think, but its also heatproof. Worked a complete treat, only problem then was when I removed the masking tape, it had pulled away the silver coating on the main light bits... resolved using some satin silver spray, so now my lights are *completely* de-chromed.... even tho I hadn't intended to do that lol

ouch :!:

saying that, cant you get chrome effect spray?

if your chrome bits were tatty so to speak, then you could probably give a quick nib down and repaint?

dunno how reflective or heat resistant it would be though.
