Riley 0 Posted April 5, 2006 they can be hard work if you run them through the winter like i have...but its just a case of keeping on top of them really. autosol and waxing them as much as you can! i seriously fell out with my car a while ago and really let it go,the design 90's were pretty corroded but after a good few goings over they are back to how they should be 8) as for the tyre size,a 205/40 will be a similar size to a 195/45,how similar i dont know so i couldnt say for sure about the fitment  plenty people are running 9x16's with 205/40's though :) neil. gradeAfailure 0 Posted May 9, 2006 question re. H&R adaptors - are they all helicoiled regardless of width? seem to remember hearing that the 25mm ones are helicoiled but the 20mm aren't?

Ryan S 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Hi guys, I’m tempted to acquire a set of D90’s for my VR. I’ve had a trawl through ebay – and ebay.de and have come to the conclusion that D90’s are all 16” with a stud pattern of 5x130. This is good news as I think 16” would be perfect, but I’m just wondering about the width and offset/adapter combination. The widths I’ve found are 6, 7, 7.5, 8 & 9. I was thinking that keeping the same width all round would be easier – as I could rotate the wheels tyres as required. So with that in mind any set between 7-8 wide all round would do me. The offsets listed seem to vary for each width – 7j – ET 55 7.5j – ET 65 8j – ET 52 Is this correct?
vr6storm 0 Posted September 1, 2006 D90's come in those various widths and offsets cos they were dependant on which Porsche they were fitted to new from memory they were standard fit on 944S2/944Turbo/964 model 911 and possibly 928's............the 8 and 9 inch wide ones would be rear wheels and the 6.5 up to 7.5 inch would be fronts
Ryan S 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Cheers VR6 Storm. Are the wide rears slightly different to the fronts then? I've seen some which look like they dish outwards at the edge of the rim... http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/album_ ... ic_id=1567 http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=1564 Whereas these just have a larger lip??? With an offset of 52 – what sort of width adapters would fill the arches nicely – whilst avoiding rubbage?
vr6storm 0 Posted September 1, 2006 the pic above shows a set of fronts and rears as you can see the rears have a bit of a dish/larger lip on them so that pic above shows you the difference between fronts and rears ive a set on my 924S which were off a 964 model 911 and from memory they are either 6.5/7j fronts and 9j rears
vr6storm 0 Posted September 1, 2006 oh and the links are either a set of silver roses/928 forged rims as opposed to D90's the reason why they look to have a massive lip on them is purely down to stretched tyres being put on.........ie too small a size being put on eg putting 195's instead of 225's on
Ryan S 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Yes, I just noticed they were called silver roses. (V.nice G60_Stoney) It's just that the rears have a different profile to the fronts - whereas the D90's are the same?
vr6storm 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Whereas these just have a larger lip??? /\ the 2 wheels pictured furthest away have a deeper dish..........these would be rear wheels on the Porker that donated them the fronts have little or no dish due to them being fronts these are D90's btw now most sets you see for sale on eBay or on Dubs are a set of 4 fronts or set of 4 rears very few ppl fit them as original sets does that help you any?? Ryan S 0 Posted September 1, 2006 Cheers Rodders, I quite like the look of a bit of dish on the rear - especially if it's on an 8j...
Ryan S 0 Posted September 8, 2006 Right, I'm still looking at these for the VR. Does anyone know whether this set-up would cause me rubbage? 7J x 16” ET 60 (Fronts) and 9J x 16” ET 65 (Rears) fitted with 35mm adapters Now does that give me an ET of 25 and 30 front and back? This seems like it may be ok? 9J wasn't really what I was after - but hey-ho if they'll fit...

Yep,they are the offsets you will have 8) Not sure on rubbage as im not sure on the standard vr6 offset? depends on the tyres too obviously... Neil. Ryan S 0 Posted September 11, 2006 Progress! Cheers for that Neil. The speedlines are ET43. So does this mean they'll stick out 18 and 13mm more front and back? If so it doesn't sound like much.
Riley 0 Posted September 11, 2006 Aye,thats it :) But obviously with a wider wheel out back you will have more rim also sat inside the wheel arch than a 7j @ et30,shocker side...im pretty sure you need et15 on the back to clear the shocker? definately on a g60 anyway. You will definately need coilovers too. Im confusing me self now  To maybe give a rough idea/or confuse things more? I ran 9x14's et35 on the back for a while and the wheel was right up against the shocker (and thats 2.14 inch coilovers) g60 et is 35. Ryan S 0 Posted September 11, 2006  I was just thinking about this... 9J is a bit too wide for me I think – shame really as I saw a set locally advertised. Adapters and bolts too, might ask the guy if I can try them?? :norty:
Riley 0 Posted September 11, 2006 Aye,cant beat trying em really. 8) I wouldnt mind 9j me self, bloody lack of money  Was gonna say you could try mine if you like but think you are miles away from me... :( Neil.
