jedi-knight83 0 Posted July 14, 2005 see signature. what it doesnt say is my first car was a pug 305 1.4. i nicknamed it the boat due to the time it took to stop once i threw out the anchor and the way it pitched and rolled when i so much as even thought about turning a corner! DEL VR6 0 Posted July 14, 2005 ive had a shitty 996cc nissan micra, a host of beetles and the likes, and golf gti and a 16v corrado. without a doubt the VR is the best car i've ever owned for driving pleasure. although i always look back on the GTi as a great car to have owned. Looks like i'll be stepping down into a Fiesta Zetec for a few months, but like Mr T says, you gotta have a setback before you can have a comeback!! Henny 0 Posted July 14, 2005 oh, OK, if we're doing all of 'em... 1972 Type 2 panel van (2.1 Porsche engine!) -> 1973 Beetle -> 1981 1600 MKI Golf GTI -> 1981 1500 MKI Golf Auto -> 1982 1800 MKI Golf GTI (which then became a 16V!) -> 1991 Corrado 16V -> 1992 MKII Golf GTI -> 1996 1400 Astra Merit -> 1992 Corrado G60 (J-DUB) and 1991 1600 MKII Driver (bought while I rebuilt J-DUB's engine) -> 1991 Corrado G60 (H-YYU) Of these, I still own the 1982 MKI GTI(16V), the Golf Driver and both Corrado G60s... :| I think I may have a bit of a VW problem...

gradeAfailure 0 Posted July 14, 2005 None of them are really huge jumps, but seeing as we're now listing all of 'em... ;) Vauxhall Nova 1.0 -> Fiat Uno Turbo -> Mk3 Escort XR3i -> Fiat Uno Turbo -> Seat Ibiza 1.5 -> MG Metro -> Peugeot 405 SRi -> Citroen ZX Volcane -> Citroen ZX Volcane -> VW Passat 2.0 8V GL The Fiats were basically tissue boxes with windmills on the engines but were a hoot to drive, the 'scort had a Cherry Bomb tailpipe on it that you could hear half a mile away (and got stolen from outside my house without me noticing ), the Pug was white and basically a taxi, and the two ZXs were a hell of a lot better than they had any right to be - in fact, if the headroom wasn't so poor in them then I'd be driving a ZX 16V now most likely as the later ones had 167bhp as standard! Nice... But then I wouldn't be here, and know all you fine people...!
Trig 0 Posted July 15, 2005 hmmm... I used to have a 2CV, bet none of your cars are slower than that little puppy. My Jetta was pretty damn slow as well...

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 15, 2005 the 'scort had a Cherry Bomb tailpipe on it that you could hear half a mile away I was just wondering how you could remember Cherry Bombs as I thought you were about 18 when I met you at inters, but looking at your Avatar you're older than I thought.... but that's a good thing  I had a bomb on my Allegro....actually, no it was a Peco "Big Bore 2" back box, LOL! gradeAfailure 0 Posted July 15, 2005 Was the Uno turbo quick? It felt quicker than it was! But it had the aerodynamic properties of a biscuit tin... ;) I'd have one again as a "toy" car to mess about with! I was just wondering how you could remember Cherry Bombs as I thought you were about 18 when I met you at inters, but looking at your Avatar you're older than I thought.... but that's a good thing  I had a bomb on my Allegro....actually, no it was a Peco "Big Bore 2" back box, LOL! Hahah, I've never stooped to the level of the legendary BB2...! Though one of the Unos had a full stainless Scorpion 'zorst - I did only get the 3.5" tailpipe though cos the 4" was just a bit silly... ;) And yeah, I'm a bit older than 18...! Hell, I remember when tiger stripes and 3-spokes were cool...
