StormVR6 0 Posted September 11, 2005 I'm not quite sure what your trying to show me but the RS200 is no Escort (although it has been refered to as an Escort). The chassis was built from scratch, it has a Cosworth engine, and a monocoque glassfibre/kevlar body (designed by Ghia). AFAIK the only bits that were not made specifically for the RS200 were various parts from the Sierra (windscreen, rear lights etc). No Escort, believe me. :) EDIT: Although to be fair the Cosworth lump was an enlarged derivative of the Escorts RS1700T, but that's as close as the link gets! Rick 0 Posted September 11, 2005 Sorry, don't really know all that much about the car (other than I like it!), everytime I've heard of it it has been refered to as an 'Escort'
StormVR6 0 Posted September 11, 2005 No need to apologise mate, I have a good knowledge of cars, although how they work is not something I have any knowledge about at all  And I've just realised you have a Storm at 22. Lucky git :) I bet the insurance is a joke.

StormVR6 0 Posted September 11, 2005 There is one about that I know of which has been tuned to rally spec and has an alleged 650Bhp! An apparent 0-60 of 2.5 seconds is totally mental.
The Leningrad Cowboy 0 Posted September 11, 2005 There is one about that I know of which has been tuned to rally spec and has an alleged 650Bhp! An apparent 0-60 of 2.5 seconds is totally mental. Evo reviewed Stig Blomquist's RS200 (October 2004). It is prepared specifically for the PikesPeak challenge. The four cylinder engine produces well over 900 bhp in a car weighing 1080kg. Apparently 60 to 80mph in 0.85 of a second, and 0-70mph in 212ft. Apparently it is geared to max out at 120mph (like most rally cars). Pretty damn quick. http://www.speedtv.com/commentary/17760/
jazzdevil 0 Posted September 12, 2005 Not rare when new but haven't seen one for a long long time until one on the M6 yeaterday - looked pretty mint Brilliant! My Dad had a yellow Gordini-Renault 17 just like that when I was about 9 years old. The car got binned in style though when the nut that held the (metal bladed) fan came off at 80mph on the M3 and cut a perfect hole straight through the radiator... not pretty! We had another 17 after the 'yellow peril', a later rectangular headlamp model in a bizarre mock-Starsky style red with a white stripe which went along the door and over the roof... it wasn't anything like as good as the Gordini, but it made me a lot of friends at school
Henny 0 Posted September 13, 2005 There's a guy in Congleton (well, I say Guy, he's now a lady... :? ) who owns a tuning company ( Collins Performance motorsport ) and owns 2 or 3 RS200s... I've been in the black one which they have which only has 400+ BHP and is only a little nippy.... ;)

EDIT: I am wrong. Also bear in mind that many of the ones people are seeing today are likely to be replicas. Genuine ones are worth an absolute fortune.
