Dutch24V 0 Posted June 29, 2006 Stan, can yo PM me some pictures of your aux. water pump mate? It's either just to the back of where the 12v coil pack sat or on the front of the block between the oilfilter/cooler and your PAS pump? Could you also *try* and get some pics of your front engine mount bracket and how it attaches to your block/gearbox? I'm curious how yours has been done! Cheers, Dutch
Dutch24V 0 Posted July 6, 2006 Can I swap the oil filter/cooler from the 12v onto the 24v? Reason being the 24v one is in the way of my front mount bracket and as the 12v is a slightly different design it wouldn't sit in the way? Dutch
CoxyLaad 0 Posted July 7, 2006 yes you can my friend. Mr Horrocks fitted his r32 with the vr oil filter housing and cooler

PhatVR6 0 Posted July 8, 2006 yes you can my friend. Mr Horrocks fitted his r32 with the vr oil filter housing and cooler no i didn't. I used the bolt hread from the 12v
24V Renshaw 0 Posted July 8, 2006 Modfiy the mount and it will not foul on the 24v housing. Jay
Dutch24V 0 Posted July 8, 2006 I'm going to try and see what happens as it'll be easier than modifying the mount bracket if it's possible. Dutch
CoxyLaad 0 Posted July 8, 2006 yes you can my friend. Mr Horrocks fitted his r32 with the vr oil filter housing and cooler no i didn't. I used the bolt hread from the 12v I stand corrected. My mistake.
bigpants baby 0 Posted July 13, 2006 just put me r32 engine in my corrado, but having trouble getting the std vr6 fan set up to fit, there doesnt seem to be enough room between the rad & the front of the engine? any ideas
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 13, 2006 Personally I would dump them and use a couple of SPAL slimline fans, but maybe the 24V boys can suggest a cheaper method :-)
CoxyLaad 0 Posted July 13, 2006 I used the mk4 rad and fans, with a bespoke rad support/crossmember
CoxyLaad 0 Posted July 13, 2006 has anyone seen this?! http://www.edition38.com/board/viewtopi ... 57&start=0 There a couple of vids at the end of it, how cool does that sound?
Dutch24V 0 Posted July 13, 2006 I've not tried to fit the rad back yet btw, but now I'm curious if it'll fit. Will get back to you on that this evening, but I'm only fitting the 2.8 24v and maybe it's slightly different than with the R32? Dutch
CoxyLaad 0 Posted July 13, 2006 nope, should be the same. the inlet manifold is slightly different mind, but not that much?
Dutch24V 0 Posted July 13, 2006 So my Rad won't fit either then? Going to try it in a while, will report back... Dutch
Dutch24V 0 Posted July 13, 2006 ...well, my rad fits fine :) There are several mounting holes in the cross-member for the rad. It is possible to fit it so the left fan doesn't clear the alternator, but if you mount the rad in the correct holes you will have minimum of 2 inches clearence to the engine/alternator etc. The right hand gromet thing on the bottom of the rad has to sit in the right most hole on the cross-member, then the left one will only fit in the hole in the bracket welded onto the front of the cross-member that sits about 2 inches forward of the other holes if you get what I mean. Stan 24v 0 Posted July 13, 2006 Mine fits too, but not as much room as yours Dutch. Do you still want some pics mate? Sorry for being useless and not getting them sorted
Dutch24V 0 Posted July 13, 2006 Hello mate. If possible pics would be handy as I'm interested to see how Andy plumbed your water piping and aux. pump. :) Dutch
Stan 24v 0 Posted July 13, 2006 Sent some pics mate, not sure how useful they are. Got one of the engine mount when Andy was doing the job.
24V Renshaw 0 Posted July 13, 2006 My rad went straight in. Because I fitted the AC I had to remove the secondary fan, but it has made absolutely no difference and the water temp never exceeds 90 degrees. Jay
Dutch24V 0 Posted July 14, 2006 Thanks for the pics Stan, very usefull :thumb right: I will try and figure out my piping this weekend so if I get stuck might ask for a few more :) Have you anymore of the front mount by any chance? Dutch
Stan 24v 0 Posted July 14, 2006 No mate sorry. I need to get under her at some point as there is a small water leak somewhere, so when I do I'll see if I can get some.
