chrishill 0 Posted December 15, 2005  nice picture of me and a large set of muffs ;)
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted December 19, 2005 the door mirrors are the ears of the Corrado and i'm not all together sure that those muffs cover the passenger ear so there's a slim chance that it may still hear............ Chris
designrob 0 Posted December 19, 2005 Beware Blind Rover Drivers!!!!! This happend about 6 months ago, was only doing 30mph, other driver didnt see me as he pulled out so slammed into the side of me causing me to demolish the fence!! I was shocked as the insurance company nearly wrote it off! Even for a small collision the repairs cost £2500!!!!
chrishill 0 Posted December 19, 2005 from how the cars sat i'm willing to put money on them quoting for the front bumper, front o/s headlight, foglight, indicator, grillie, grille badge, splitter and slam pannel all plus paint and labour. sadly with insurance reapirs and the cost of new parts from VW it really doesnt take much to end the life of a corrado.
designrob 0 Posted December 19, 2005 It needed a new headlight + foglight. The slam panel was damaged, but they said If I wanted a new one they would right the car off ( think they cost nearly £800.00), so I choose to get it repaired!!! Itr is amazing how such a small amount of damage can kill off a corrado!
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted December 19, 2005 that can't be a write off, no way! Chris
designrob 0 Posted December 19, 2005 Thats what I said! Still its all fixed now, and fingers crossed no more accidents!!!
Henny 0 Posted December 20, 2005 *raises hand* Hi, I'm Ian and I've written off 2 Corrados... Lost my first one on a corner on some diesel and ended up going diagnally backwards into a field twisting the bodyshell enough to crease the roof... :| Then crashed J-DUB around this time last year when some silly cow pulled out in front of me as I was overtaking (now been declared entirely her fault! 8) :D ) J-DUB will probably be resurrected as I've got all the parts (other than an engine and a passenger front wing) to put her back together again now, although it's looking like I may have to sell her as an unfinished project due to work commitments and moving home... :(
H8RRA 0 Posted December 20, 2005 some more pics are needed on this thread to show the devastation caused by others AND ucaring corrado owners :) (You know who you are ;) ) Nosky, you haven't held your hands up to wrecking chilly's car first time round - lets see some more twisted corrado metal......... bcstudent 0 Posted December 24, 2005 I was close to adding mine to the list tonight as well - the first time I've driven the car since my bike crash six weeks ago. Driving back from a mate's house thinking 'damn it's slippery tonight' the back end of the car broke loose on a 90 degree left-hand bend in a village. Any faster than the 30mph I was doing and there's no way it would have been recoverable. It's likely that I'd have ended up in the side of the police traffic car parked on the opposite side of the road. If I smashed a fog light my car would probably be written off. It's not the best example!
GIXXERUK 0 Posted December 24, 2005 suppose it could be worse ? got this off the RS forum I’ve finally joined the RS Owners Club…….Membership No 40636. There have been several posts of stolen Focus RS’s, and it really heartbreaking. These low life scum bags should be shot. Not just for the FRS, but for any of the fords. On August the 6th My Focus RS was stolen by three masked men with machetes. A friend of mine Jay, asked a friend of his Darren barber to post it on the forum, which he kindly did. CheeRS Jay & Darren I don’t want to go on and on about it, this post is just to give you an insight into how easy this happens. Most of you who have been through this and already know how easy this is. I’d had the RS only 18 months, purchased it in Nov03 new, after a long wait!!! FRS No. 4428. Everything about the car was great and in early 2005 I met Jay also a FRS owner. I couldn’t believe how friendly people were who were RS owners, great set of people. I drove home at about 12:15am, pulled onto my drive; I’d just switched off the ignition and opened the door when I heard footsteps, that what is it one stood in front of me and the other two to the side all with machetes. They demanded they keys, then my wallet and they also got my phone. The started it and off they went. It took all of 10 seconds. The police were pretty quick, but not quick enough if you know what I mean. The officer checked around the street and found an abandoned Corsa, they then confirmed to me that this car had been used in 3 armed robberies. I told them it had a tracker, but when they tried to get anything it wouldn’t release a signal, they kept trying, but nothing. I knew I wouldn’t see it again. What especially hurt was, I did a trip around Europe in March in Aid of NSPCC, It was like a cannonball thing, but just two of us. We covered 5000miles in 10 days. See http://www.rs-tour.co.uk I had so much memories with the car, it was devastating. After a numerous calls the police their was no leads, and after about 11 weeks I had been paid out by the insurance company, so I purchased another one FRS No. 4416. A week later I got a call from the police, they found it in Cheetham Hill. It was wrecked, thanks D**kheads…….have a look for yourself. It’s a shame to hear all these stories of carjackings, but don’t let this put you off, you shouldn’t be dictated on what car you should have, if you want it buy it..Otherwise we’d be all driving Nissan micra’s. I now have blackjax fitted and another tracker, and like some of you have been asking. The system is top notch, bit of a pain in the , but it works, they ain’t getting it this time. I’m planning another trip next year, I will update you all inn the new year, It would be great to get some of RS Owners to join in.

KADVR6 0 Posted December 24, 2005 well here ya are, and my car has been wrote off, so far only been offered £1700, http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/download.php?id=24939
Trig 0 Posted December 24, 2005 Nice post GIXXERUK, really feel sorry for that guy, even though I wouldn't buy a RS... That's pretty harsh targeting owners of that particular car. :( It would be terrible if they were after Corrados. With all these Corrado accidents & write-offs it is still hard to believe that so many are for sale at such low prices... Can't be long until there are only a few thousand left all owned by enthusiasts and worth a fortune... not that i'd sell mine if that were the case! :) Merry Christmas & keep your machines safe!
