Hooked up a cold air feed today (with the occasional use of gaffer tape as well), and also relocated the temperature sensor from inside the bumper to inside the cold air feed (to give me an idea to air temp coming in). This was something saw in one of Henny's posts, so thanks fo the tip  Also butchered away at the bottom corner of the air box so that the cold air just flows straight in. All I need now is a long journey to see how it fairs :D :D

Fitted an Audioscape sub box and 10" Rainbow Amboss sub recently. Nice sound, but only running it off the Genesis Profile 4 at the moment (sub amp on its way :D :D ) so not sounding at its best yet.

Of course, lost the boot light with doing this, so decided to go the neon route and fit one on the other side. Picked up one of Ebay for about £5 and fitted it today. Really happy with the results :D :D .... Not obvious at all, from a glance in the boot, but gives a good even glow at night.

Nice one Jon, that looks realy good, Does it flicker when it turns on? I am thinking of a couple of blue ones in the footwells hooked up to the interior light.

Looks good matey - but it does raise the question of why did Audioscape design the sub enclosure for the left of the boot when there is surely the same space on the right? :?

It's oversights like this that would make me want to build my own rather than lose the OEM light...

Cheers Rog, usually takes about a second to light - so it's not an 'instant on'. Not noticable really when opening the boot, unless you've got a really quick action :D It doesn't flicker either, does straight from off to on. This was my first experience with neons, so don't know whether they all work like this. I was thinking reds or some small red leds for my foot wells, but it means I'll have to keep the car neater  (plus I'll need a separate on-off switch for when they're not needed).

Connected up my new Precision Power sub amp to the Rainbow Amboss. Sounds really nice, although I still have a bit of tweeking to get the best out of it. The nice chaps at Audioscape alos sorted me out with a gril for the sub (which they have now got for sale folks, if like me you're concerned about sticking something sharp through your precious sub). Amazed at how little space the sub takes up.

More soundproofing goodies on the way from Audioscape for the Christmas project......

Finished off the job of sound deadening the doors today. After chatting with James at Audioscape last year I picked up form Skinz, cleaning spray, moisture guard and wave diffuser. Also had some of their sticky neoprene sheets laying around. Timeconsuming job, but not hard really. Good to have both doors done now, and they feel really solid. Also tried their Rhino skinz as a replacement for the moisture barrier - nasty stuff - much prefer just uing Dynamat Extreme or normal Skinx for that job.

1st New Year job done - yay :D :D

he will have or should have :-) used the existing live and earth off the original light , that way you keep the switch in the boot latch to operate it

Yep, used the feed from the original boot light and extended the cable round the other side of the boot, so it works just like the original light. Noticed occasionally it needs a little tap to get it lit (don't know if this is typical of neons or not). Think if I can be bothered to do it again I'll use white LED's instead.

And as for the cold air feed _leon_, it was good to see the temp coming down quick as soon as I get some speed up. I do quite a bit of stop/start driving in London, so thought it best to do anything to lower the temps. Need to find a good way to anchor it to the back of the bumper now.....

cheers - is there any particular increase in performance? to hold it in place you could maybe use metal ties tying the hosing and the brake duct together

Nothing hugely noticeable _leon_, more a sort of piece of mind thing really. Wanted to make sue the air coming in was a cool as possible. Cheers for the tip re. the ties - will try that.

anymore pics of the sound deadning and of it lowered? :D

No more of the sound deadening unfortunately, basically after the shots on the previous page, the second (inner) skin of the door was covered over as well, and a hole cut out behind the speaker. This then had the moisture barrier placed over it to keep the water out.

As for pictures of it lowered, should be able to get some this weekend weather permitting.

Just changed my Alpine 9815rb headunit over from silver to black so it matches my interior better.

Sounds easy, but for those of you who are Alpine fans the 9815rb was only available in silver in the UK. I've ordered a replacement nose piece assembly (technical term for the plastic cover off the faceplate) from the US and it arrived today. 5 mins with a screwdriver, and voila, my stereo now matches the interior of the car better 8) . Been wanting to do this for 2 years, as I thought the silver headunit just looked daft in a dark interior.

Yeah, that was my thought. Silver looked awful in a dark interior. All I need to do now is get the lights in the stereo changed to red. Saw someone on the talkaudio forum had done that - he had to replace all the surface mounted LED's. Not a nice job. Would be unique tho' afterwards....

As promised, pics of the current ride height. As it is the front splitter scrapes over the speed bumps on my driveway, so it wont be going any lower at the moment.
