My Budget Rado

Recommended Posts

Quick (rare) pic of my under 2 grand corrado.

Having owned a Nugget Yellow 16v (belongs to beeftech on here now) and lavishing much time and cash on it when i found myself in a position to buy my curent rado i set myself a challenge to stick as closely as possible to a £2000 limit

The few people on here that know me know im more into the aircooled side of things and my 58 bug remains my pride and joy, so the car i run every day does'nt have to be immaculately turned out!

Rough spend list is;

91 2.0 16v (9a) Corrado £1450

Venom 80mm lowering kit £200

Full Decat powerflow system £200 (it was a 'saturday afternoon job' :D )

Momo 280mm steering wheel £50

G60 steelies with brand new tyres £100 (will get the original estorils diamond cut when the weather picks up)

Not done bad eh?

Car has covered 185000 miles and is still joy to drive, interior is factory perfect and the whole car generally looks like it's done half the miles!

Regularly does the 400 mile round trip to the girlfriends without bother and more often than not at 35 to 40 mpg

God i love this car 8)

It's no where near as low as the yellow one, it was down another 40mm on that!

Still got the grill if you want it James, give me a buzz over the holidays or something

Finding myself strangely drawn to the steelies, maybe cos i had'nt seen a C with them on before

Also thinking about painting them black.................

I didn't realize this was Marks old Ride ! Thought it had a "accident" ?

It met with a little accident yes! (and with me in it!)

Did you have to put the pic up of when you first got it? :(

Broke my heart to sell that car but could'nt give up enough time to give it the attention it deserved and restore the bug anymore.

It's been looked after though and thats the main thing.

Oh and by the way ste...................

...............wind it back down you woman, i have never driven another car since that handled like that thing on a 120mm drop

Below is a pic of the reason i sold it

The front of this is lowered by about a foot, anyone else notice a common theme in my cars? :D

Mmmm Dry Sump :) Now there's an Idea! Don't think I could justify the cost though, just to have it that low!

Out of interest anyone know how much a dry sump kit is then :)
