gaz the geezer 0 Posted February 25, 2006 If i wanted leathers for the car, are they like rocking horse sh"t to locate and is it an easy job? they seem to crop up regular enough, here and ebay would be a good place to start searching....and yes, straight forward job to do. g60greeny 0 Posted February 25, 2006 there always poppin up,keep an eye on the for sale section, sure there were some biege leathers on there
mtc R32 0 Posted February 25, 2006 What sort of price am i looking to pay....
chrishill 0 Posted February 25, 2006 anything up to around a grand! TBH i dont think leathers in good condition come up very often, and most of the time they command a much higher price than they're really worth. Personally I'd save a bit more and go for a re-trim
gaz the geezer 0 Posted February 25, 2006 .........how longs a piece of string, you can end up paying up to and over the £1000 mark depending on wether they are heated or electric adjusting, seen leathers go for £300....and go for £1200, just a matter of keepin an eye out for the bargains
mtc R32 0 Posted February 25, 2006 What will be the expected bhp with a filter and zorst... Someone told me 200bhp but surely it can't be that much.
gaz the geezer 0 Posted February 25, 2006 the car in standard fettle would be around the 190 mark, i`ve no idea if the mods you propose would take it over the 200 mark, but i`m sure someone will come along shortly and tell ya
veeDuB_Rado 0 Posted February 25, 2006 Most likely around that, Corrados ( Esp. the vr ) get more bhp as they get older.
veeDuB_Rado 0 Posted February 25, 2006 Well they grow in strength as they get more "broken" into. I think BristolBarons standard g60 put out 11 more bhp that standard at a recent rolling road ( Stealth maybe? )
chrishill 0 Posted February 25, 2006 :? i think its more that no two vw engines are ever the same and the vr6 power output is, or was under estimated
Bally 0 Posted February 25, 2006 congrats mate & welcome to corrado ownership..
bristolbaron 10 Posted February 25, 2006 Well they grow in strength as they get more "broken" into. I think BristolBarons standard g60 put out 11 more bhp that standard at a recent rolling road ( Stealth maybe? ) That'll be 21 bhp more thankyou very much!! I have deleted the boost return and fitted as rsr outlet, but think the engine is just in fine fettle. There will always be differences between engines of the age, and results at stealth for completely standard VR's ranged from 190-200 ish. Its not impossible to see 200 bhp from an exhaust and airfilter. I feel the first thing to do is get the car fully checked over and serviced by a specialist, such as stealh, and go with their advice from there. There plenty to read up on here, use the search, and if you can find answers to questions, just ask! Btw, welcome to the forum and well done on a cracking buy! Baz. Stan 24v 0 Posted February 25, 2006 Good buy mate ;) I doubt very much that you'd get 200 with those mods, but stranger things have happened. Maybe try fitting some TT leathers or something, if youre willing to spend a fair bit on C ones?? Newer and nicer IMHO
double-6s 0 Posted February 25, 2006 welcome mate. bargain! i reckon 200 bhp is probably kicked out by a fair few standard vr's during the winter months.
