big_chris1981 0 Posted June 1, 2006 just wondering if theyre meant to do down with such a thunk? my experience of VAG leccy windows is limited to the new stuff....so this might be quite normal...thought it best to ask

BlackHeartValentine 0 Posted June 1, 2006 mine are quiet till the bottom then a muffled thud...doesn't sound like anything is broken. I just had a new window regulator put in on the passenger side and it does it too. But its not all extra loud or anything. kinda makes me feel like its more of a tank :D (it just needs a blow off sound when rolling down, now that'd be hott...spssshhhhhhh...thud :D)
daves16v 1 Posted June 1, 2006 Had this many moons ago. Indeed there is a plastic guide that travels up and down the runner, there is a good chance this has come away from the glass. Take the door card off and have a look. You'll see the glue still attached to the glass. I stuck it back on with plenty of superglue but be careful there isn't alot of space to get your hand in. It reduced alot of the thud.
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted June 2, 2006 I took off my door trim to have a look and its attached fine, there is a plastic guide at the bottom of the runner which might be incomplete, this might be a stop. I've added a couple of rubber bump stops at the bottom of this and now I've got no thud.........wehay(yes i was bored) :-P
