DaveStorm 0 Posted July 4, 2006 I think I remember Tempest telling me it's been scrapped.

big_chris1981 0 Posted July 4, 2006 was it that bad??
Jim 2 Posted July 4, 2006 No - the car was fine. But he didn't wanna go through the trouble of selling it the normal way, and he had no way of keeping it before he got his new car.. so just letting a dealer take it (and crush it) was the only way :(
steve_16v 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Shame to scrap something so unique, wan't my cup of tea but surely he could have just given it away to someone?
big_chris1981 0 Posted July 4, 2006 has anyone still got the pictures?
Jim 2 Posted July 4, 2006 Thread seems to have been pruned with the pics in but I have some at home. Will try and dig em out tomorrow if I remeber :)
Mave 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Is it the brown one? If it is, then that totally sucks, as it was "special"
Jim 2 Posted July 4, 2006 It was grey with tan (and completely one off I might add) interior...
bcstudent 0 Posted July 4, 2006 In my opinion, those are not the actions of an enthusiast.
Jim 2 Posted July 4, 2006 Agreed.. if indeed it did get crushed then its a crying shame. But then he's not an enthusiast like us. He worked for Karmann and he had a car taking up room in his garage. Guess he wasn't bothered where it went in the end.
big_chris1981 0 Posted July 4, 2006 if its still about.......then im interested....if its been crushed then hes a bit of a winky....
Yandards 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Think its toast after chatting with Tempest over the BVF weekend, but he is not sure about that.
Phil K 0 Posted July 5, 2006 That really would be a shame :(
big_chris1981 0 Posted July 5, 2006 if tempest finds out any more.......
Andy665 0 Posted July 5, 2006 I believe the Chrysler dealer he bought his new car from offered him a lot more than the car was worth just to scrap it - he didn't want much for it (£1300 or thereabouts) - I was tempted but realised I didn't really have the time needed to get it back to the condition it deserved
KARMANN 0 Posted July 6, 2006 Any pictures yet?
Andy665 0 Posted July 6, 2006 Here's a couple I was sent
Mave 0 Posted July 6, 2006 If that's been scrapped then the dude that owned it is a complete: _ _ _ _ _ _ ^ Fill your own word in ^
Jim 2 Posted July 6, 2006 Lets just get over it. The situation with the car was made very apparent at the time it was up for sale last year. The owner tried for an age to sell it on here - plenty of people thought it was overpriced / tatty, etc back then and not worth the asking price. I agree its a shame that it was scrapped but it was on here for months - no one wanted to take it on, therefore it was junked. Just dug out some CD's of pics from last year.. i'll find some more of the car! One minute...
Jim 2 Posted July 6, 2006 Here y'are.. And of course the possible 'evidence' that Karmann do indeed have a smashed up 16VG60 Corrado in their basement. The guy with this show Corrado said he removed this from the car in the basement to sell..
Mave 0 Posted July 6, 2006 Cool pics Jim, it does look rough there, but I'd have like to have saved it.. Spose it true whatcha say, get over it. :( edit: Has his numberplate been shot Western stylee?
