Riley 0 Posted September 28, 2006 Guys, would i be ok driving around for a while without the front bumper? Obviously ill have to secure/tie wrap the indicaters up somewhere....but any legal issues? Should be ok as long as theres no sharp edges i think? Neil.

Neil. your insurance company might take a dim view if you were involved in an accident, I don't think they'd agree to it being a 'modification' either if you told them about it. dr_mat 0 Posted September 28, 2006 I would imagine that the car would fail an MOT with no front bumper, due to the extra risk of injury to pedestrians in an accident (can't see how you can hide all the sharp edges!), and therefore I would say no.. Unless you're just talking about driving it 500 yards to the bodyshop ...
Bally 0 Posted September 28, 2006 what you having doen to the bumper mate?? I wouldnt drive it.. heres a pic without bumper...
davidwort 0 Posted September 28, 2006 I'd be more worried about the missing front wheels Bally, those disks would just dig into the tarmac :)

chrishill 0 Posted September 28, 2006 wouldnt have thought it'd be too expensive to get yourself a damaged but usable front bumper from somewhere while yours is being worked on... unless you need the bumper off for access while doing something else! Riley 0 Posted September 28, 2006  Cheers guys...it needs to be off while i modify it for something.I use the car for work every day knocking about around town. In fact i do have an early red bumper, but the indicaters and fogs wouldn't fit up would they? Cheers,Neil.
billinjah 0 Posted September 28, 2006 yes the fogs and indicators fit an early bumper mate you just pull the plastic piece out of the apature.

Dutch24V 0 Posted September 28, 2006 Bentley states that the front bumber forms part of the front subframe and hence the C should never be driven without one. Dutch

Critical_Mass 10 Posted September 28, 2006 Bentley states that the front bumber forms part of the front subframe and hence the C should never be driven without one. Was going to say that. I dread to thing the damage you'd cause if you hit a pedestrian, as was stated before.. sharp edges. OUCH!
Riley 0 Posted October 1, 2006 yes the fogs and indicators fit an early bumper mate you just pull the plastic piece out of the apature. They do indeed fit :D Just needed a little tweaking and they were in. 8) Neil.
bcstudent 0 Posted October 1, 2006 You'll definitely need to keep the bumper iron brackets at the very least. The front subframe bolts into the bumper brackets.
