yorkshireone 0 Posted October 19, 2007 Just been reading the post on the fuel shortages next week and it got me thinking, I wonder what the variation in fuel prices is like across the UK. I'll start.... Aberdeen Super Unleaded 96.9 @ Shell Unleaded 93.9 @ Shell Seems reasonably cheap, was paying 99.9@Shell in Wakefield for my Optimax. :(

tonedef 9 Posted October 19, 2007 102.9 for V-Power in Chesterfield. I filled the pickup with diesel at work two weeks ago, 60 litres for 12 Saudi Riyals. Exchange rate 7.6 Saudi Riyals to £1.00. Petrol doesn't cost a deal more, are we getting ripped or what???

yorkshireone 0 Posted October 19, 2007 I think Aberdeen is one of, if not, the cheapest place in the UK. Its the oil capital of Europe so I dont think we pay the premium for transporting the fuel over long distances....

Rento_VW 0 Posted October 20, 2007 This is what I translated a bit. » US Spec Corrado Tank: ~18 gallons = ~68 liters » US Spec VR6 Miles per Gallon(MPG): ~25MPG = ~28.3 Euro VR6 91 Unleaded (Highest Octane) = ~$4 USD a gallon = 195 pence or ~£2 a gallon So uhh.. We pay about $60 for a full tank so about 2929 pence or £30 Lasts about 300-400 Miles which is 483km-644km... So, about 2,929pence(p?) or £30 to go ~563km
Riley 0 Posted October 20, 2007 I pay about a quid for optimax or whatever it is...Burnley/Lancashire.

Or in other words 43p/litre :(

The US use an RdON rating that is calculated differently to our RON values, so their 91 is the same as our 95. http://www.torquecars.com/articles/fuel ... atings.php But yeah, it is depressing how much of it actually gets swallowed by the government - the actual price of the fuel is only about 30p/litre.
