Leather upholstery specialists

Cheers guys, they certainly seem better value than MJ. I've seen some of MJ's work and it wasn't to my liking, maybe it was just the material the customer chose but the leather was scrunching up and there was threads hanging out like a cheap shirt.

For a grand, I want OE quality, or am I expecting too much? I'm just fussy when it comes to leather!

Has anybody here had any trimming work done by DB?

Cheers

Kev

Not had mine retrimed by DB Cartrim yet, but seen there work at its top notch.

I had the same impression of some of the MJ stuff. And DB have been doing all types of VW's for years.

Just got off the phone and they charge £650+VAT for Corrado seats. They sound like a good bunch, honest and friendly. They've never done Corrado door cards before, so they haven't got a template, so they might cost more than the standard £300 to do, but seemed confident he could do them.

Hmmmm....it's quite an expensive project!

I'll give it some hard thought over the weekend!

Thanks for the tip.

The garage I used to work for used DB cartrim for all of their interiors and we had several show winners...

Dave's a sound bloke who knows his stuff and has been going for AGES... I stopped working at the garage 8 years ago, so they've been in business for at least one decade, which says a lot... 8)

Heartily recommended... 8)

I know that he was always happy to do cars he'd never done before and did a lovely job on a couple of Porsche 356s that we were restoring which aren't exactly a common interior to do... 8)

do you not have any leather at the moment then??

how much would they charge to re-trim the front seats only in cream?? i'd like to get mine done at some point. all the rear seats and door cards are lovely.

Nope, no leather for me! I'm just looking at some options because getting hold of an OE interior is going to be impossible.

Not sure about the front seats only, £325 I would imagine.

Give Dave a call on 01253 761252

Wonder if its worth finding out if DB cartrim can do a special discounted price, if say a group of us Corrado owners got them done. I know i would like mine redoing in Leather. That said, wanna get it lowered first, then the exhaust, and after that the leather, which might not be til early '04! ah well, nice thought.

Too true I've been looking at leather interior's from a corrado for some time and alot are over priced when for a £100 or so more you can have your own seats retrimed exactly how you like.

When I spoke to dave earlier in the year he told me the same about the door cards, seem like a real good guy as he said if I wanted to come look at some leather samples at a weekend he would open up especially.

Just not got round to going over to talk to him yet, got a good idea at what I want though.

Well, did his advert not say "...no offers..."???

I'm guessing £750 unless either he's very stubborn, or finds himself a complete mug.

BTW, full leather without aircon is a really, really BAD idea...

I would too if I could afford 'em! In short, why not?!?

Well I'm actually considering these leathers and I personally don't think that £900 is way OTT for a superb condition set of black leather Recarro's, with the looms as well.

Ok, no door cards, but they won't look out of place in a dark interior and the door cards can always be sourced later on.

I do think that £900 is a tad much, but they don't come up very often.

Well:

I bought the 1st one because I wanted something fun to spend 2-3 hours a day on the motorway in.

The second one was supposed to be a cheap project that meant I'd have something to drive to work if I didn't get the 1st car back together after working on it over the weekend (750 miles a week eats suspension components... ). Unfortunately it snapped it's cambelt 6 weeks after I bought :x it so I decided to keep it and fiddle with it.

The 3rd one was an impulse buy as I wanted to see what a VSR-equipped VR6 felt like (although I was actually looking for a G60 at the time...).

The alternative explanation is that I like keeping VW parts departments and various VW specialists in business. :D

Indeed, shorts, black leather + this years summer temperatures = ouch!
