Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 15, 2008 I thought I'd make a thread about wheel data to try and help people make an informed decision when choosing wheels. Hopefully the list will expand over time, so please add to the list if you know of any wheel weights and other data etc. The weights shown are actual weights on scales, which I'd prefer when updating the list tbh as some of the wheel weight data on the net is a bit optimistic in some cases! Wheel weights: 15s VR6 Speedline - 6.5J x 15 - ET43 - 7.5Kg - 288m VAG clearance VR6 Solitude - 6.5J x 15 - ET43 - 8.3Kg - 288m VAG clearance Compomotive MO5 1571 - 7J x 15 - ET25 - 7.8kg - 305mm AP and 312mm VAG clearance Compomotive CXR 1571 - 7J x 15 - ET25 - 16s BBS RX - 7J x 16 - ET38 - 8.8 Kg - 312mm VAG clearance Compomotive MO6 1672 - 7J x 16 - ET25 - 8.8Kg - Good 4 pot clearance 17s Team Dynamics Pro Race 1 - 7J x 17 - ET35 - 7.7Kg - Good 4 pot clearance Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 - 7J x 17 - ET35 - 8.1Kg - Some 4 pots may need spacers Compomotive MO6 1771 - 7J x 17 - ET35 - 9.8Kg - Good 4 pot clearance VW Santa Monica - 7J x 17 - ET38 - 7.8Kg BBS RKII - 7.5J x 17 - ET35 - 9.5kg (approx) Audi (Ronal?) KADVR6 0 Posted December 5, 2008 just picked up some oe santa monica's 7j x 17" et38, and thought these feel lighter than the RC's, guess what they are lighter coming in at 7.8kg. and the 9j x 16 gottis with a 215/40/16 tyre weighs a mighty 19.5kg  plus to make them look right on the car the bloody sump sits waaaay to close to the tarmac :( so guess what may be for sale very soon........... karl

pete_griff 0 Posted January 30, 2009 bumpity bump for some thread ressurection! does anyone have any idae as to 4-pot clearance and weights on the ABT wheels - got my eye on a set as we speak.... need the info asap, as they will probably go soon... thanks very much :) pete
coullstar 0 Posted February 1, 2009 Not sure on clearance but they are quality wheels and light too. I had a set on my S3 and would certainly buy again. Is it the simple plain 5 spoke ones? I like them. Oh and just to highlight the weight issue I fitted a set of Lenso 18in alloys to the Golf Tdi last week. Car felt a lot slower (despite almost identical RR) and they avergae MPG was down by 10!!!! The ride was terrible as well.
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted February 5, 2009 as much as i like my BBS RC's they dont have that much brake clearance....so i to are on the look out for a new set of rims.

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted October 20, 2009 just picked up some oe santa monica's 7j x 17" et38, and thought these feel lighter than the RC's, guess what they are lighter coming in at 7.8kg. You mean these Karl? Are they OE or copies? That's a nice weight and I think they have reasonable caliper clearance too. Always liked them 8)

Philmo 0 Posted December 18, 2009 Has anyone weighed in a 17" BBS RX wheel? Have I missed a table collating all the data? If no-one's done this I'd happily sort it but have only Word or XL. If I sort this can someone else transpose an MS file into a graphic file compatible with CF?
