8vtornado 0 Posted January 27, 2009 this is just awesome. iv been wanting to do the exact same to mine for ages (i have less rest tho!) but i dont have the garage money and im not brushed up on my welding enough to feel confident to do those bits. ur very lucky to have this at 16. when i was 16 i had a 1.3 golf with a stupid noisy exhaust!!! (there were tasteful bits mind) keep up the good work and i love that bmw colour, im also a fan of dark rado's (iv got a yellow one!!!!) and the 20vt is an exciting transplant. i can only imagine itll be awesome with the gt28. how are you hoping to afford insurance on this at 17?! 20vturbo 0 Posted January 27, 2009 how are you hoping to afford insurance on this at 17?! the car wont be finished when im 17 or maybe even 18 and i have something sorted out for when it comes time to insure and anyways i have my golf to drive when im 17 so im not too worried about getting it on the road
corradophil 3 Posted January 27, 2009 Good thread, I'm sure it will be great when you have finished it. Are you doing all the work yourself? If so, well done for picking up the skills at such a young age. Looks like you need a bulk order of Nitromors, I used to do bodywork for a living, and one job I did was a bare metal respray on a 1968 Camaro. I had to strip the entire shell. Trouble is, once it is stripped you need to get a move on so it doesn't rust.
