There are a few out there i guess, i know of 2 with less than 35000 miles :cuckoo: and there does seem to be a lot of history mentioned with some of them inc old mot's etc which is a good as it gets if its all genuine :? like skinny says he's a specialist dealer and has his details with most other dealers around who call him if they get one in for a trade in.

Have a search for 'He-Man' on here or 'the corrado specialist' (TCS). Didn't get the best of receptions, myself included, but if he can make a living, fair play to him. Although by most accounts, he's someone that doesn't know his speedlines from his solitudes.

They're two different people/companies as far as I know - He-Man gave up selling them a while back I think, and I dont think TCS uses the site.

 

It does seem strange that he can find all these low mileage examples (not that im suggesting they're not genuine!) when they're obviously not being picked up from the normal avenues (i.e. ebay/autotrader/local papers/pistonheads/forums) which leaves very little sources other than his ;'wanted' adverts everywhere. Best of luck to him though, I cant see why people have a problem with him trading really!

I agree Walesy, you dont have to buy from him if you dont want to. And if you ask me he's doing us a favour and giving the Corrado a little more prestige which is more that can be said for anyone else who deals in them.

 

I'd certainly go and look at his collection if i was after a new one. :grin:

I've said it before...I got on well with the chap, he had several Corrado's for me to look at when I went and bought mine (including a 'Campagin' edition). Fair play to him, he's in fucking business afterall chaps! :salute:

I've never actually been to see the guy although I live in North Derbyshire so am not a million miles away, but feel that the criticism he often gets here is is sometimes misplaced. He's in business and that means selling cars for more money that he paid for them, if he doesn't then he's quickly out of business. When I bought my VR, I went to Autotek in Surrey because the guy used to specialise in Corrados and at the time had maybe a dozen on his forecourt giving me lots to choose from an at the same time and saving me driving all over the country to look at private sales with maybe inaccurate descriptions.

 

When buying any used car it's worth verifying the mileage from old MOTs and service records, if the history is not there it's up to yourself to walk away or take the chance is it not?

 

And just maybe, a dealer selling cars that some believe are over priced helps keep the value of our own cars higher than they might possibly be. After all none of us owns a Corrado younger than 14 years any more, they're not old enough to be classics but they're certainly old by modern car terms

I met him in person at the Classic Car Show at the NEC in 2007.. came and introduced himself on the club stand and we all looked at each other in a sort of 'Ahhhh.. so it's YOU' moment. He seemed pretty decent but definately a businessman and not out to do anyone a favour - simple as that. Sort of a no nonsense kind of guy and that's fair enough. He was desperate to tell us how much he was able to mark cars up by though, and saying how cheap he gets offered them all the time.. so he's not exactly shy about the fact!

Personally I'd be a bit concerned looking at a 13-16 year old car with only 35,000 miles on it. What's that - less than 3,000 miles a year on average?

 

And that's not to say the car still won't have issues mechanically - parts like hoses and wiring perish with age not use so you may not be saving yourself lots cost wise. On the positive side a car that has done that few miles is unlikely to have been thrashed I suspect.

 

Better to have a bashed, dented, hard-driven, rebuilt, 150,000 miler if you ask me - but then I would say that wouldn't I, LOL

Hmm the 28,000 miles Storm that's been sold for "£8775" also has 15 stamps in the service book... that a service every 1800 miles?? :scratch:

At a guess alot of those rado's he has adverts for don't actually exists.... The storm and a couple of other corrado's say sold... so i reckon it's just a come on to get you to come and look. It's happened to me before looking for other cars it gets you on the forecourt and interested, and then you get sorry sir we sold that last week but we do have this ........

well as i have found out raddos do better being thrashed. and get faster after 100k miles so not always an advantage to have low miles.

He-man is completley separate to TCS. Having met He-man in Manchester where he lives I can confirm he is not Richard at TCS near Swadlincote. Tried to see a car once many years ago from TCS, but was put off by the offer to meet near Sainsburys and phone him when I get there, I found it all very strange for a dealer so didn't go as sounded dodgy.

I once bought a car with very low annual mileage.

 

It took ages to get the oil flushed through so it was not all gunky (water from condensation I know).

 

It had been owned by a "single lady", in her early 30's.

One of those that toodles around and does masses of short journeys.

 

The engine was really tight, I actually ran it in not daring to boot it until I had steadily easied it in.

On saying that it had been looked after too, properly serviced etc.

 

I think buying a car of low mileage relative to age of car can be ok, if you understand the problems that may be related to it.

 

Have spent the whole evening on net lining up cars to view over the weekend - so excited :clap:
