Corrado in Top gear Big Book Now with pics of it

Recommended Posts

Was looking through the books at work yesterday ( as you do) flicking through the Top Gear big book of 2010 and caught a glips of a bring yellow flash and a front end you couldnt mistake.

Looked back through to find The corrado is one of there favourite cars.

Along with the Audi Quattro, Ferrari F40 and Jaguar XJR

I just had to buy the book in the end :D

Thats cool, i take it they were not just raving about the VR6 if it was yellow? Were any of the Golfs in there too, or any other VWs?

Well they were still biased to the VR

IIRC they said something like, "It was just addiquit with the valve engines, addiquit with the strange supercharged G60 version but only came into its own when VW get their heads straight and put the VR engine in it"

I think all the Magazines and Car programmes like the Corrado's. Evo magazine did there 100 top driving cars recently and the C was in there ok only just and it was the VR but it made it.

Nice, not sure how 'slightly wierd' the G60 is in the current modern climate of force feeding nearly every performance engine.

yeh wierd is a poor choice of word, the only thing which i can think makes it a little peculiar is there wasn't any motors using that type of charger at the time

Weird in the sense they should have used a turbo like everyone else

They supercharged the Mini Cooper to great results for a number of years, so I don't think using a supercharger was that much of a curveball idea personally!

I reckon it might be weird cos it was missing a few valves tbh.

Good find. But as we know from another Top Gear Hammond raved about the Rado VR saying it was better than most of the stuff on sale now. 8)
