mimjed 0 Posted October 24, 2009 ha ha race somebody else with one!! not owning a golf im not too sure but i would imagine there would be a pd150 stamp in the engine bay or maybe log book. one of them text check things should bring it up too.
JayGT 0 Posted October 24, 2009 Speak to VW UK, there is a number on their website you can call. Or as above... race someone! :D
rolex 0 Posted October 24, 2009 Dont the 150's have a front mounted intercooler?
Majik 0 Posted October 24, 2009 As far as i know i might be incorrect the TDI badge at back should have DI in red or some say GT TDI and engine number/code and KW power this should 110 (110kw) would tell you that can be found on the white sticker inside boot. paxman 0 Posted October 24, 2009 Standard 17" wheels... Obviously these could be fitted afterwards!
Goldie 2 Posted October 24, 2009 Ok, the badges on the back could have been changed but: 150bhp - TDI in red 130 bhp - DI in red 110bhp - I in red. I think my Bora log book had it on failing that when you phone for an insurance quote they will know from your reg number.
mimjed 0 Posted October 24, 2009 all you really need to do is ring vw spare parts and give them your reg. they will tell you what your car was when it left the factory. but as they are closed any insurance company (online for ease) will also state what it is. the turbo should provide some clues aswell, normally stamped with part numbers. they will prob also be able to tell you where to find the stamp (pd110 or pd150 etc) assuming it has one. badges are never something to go by, my old forklift truck had a v6 badge on
Supercharged 2 Posted October 24, 2009 Don't go by the badges.... The engine code and power in kW is on the service book sticker and in the boot The 150 PD is ARL engine code and is also the only PD that has the FMIC. It should also go like stink too! swiftkid 1 Posted October 25, 2009 i thought all the mk4 golf 150's were only made in the anniversary spec? i have been on the lookout for a 150 and the only ones i have seen are anniversarys
mimjed 0 Posted October 25, 2009 nah spec doesnt mean alot, everything can be changed. arl engine code is the one to trust. front mounted intercooler instead of side. 110kw sticker in boot. 150 bhp came with 16" as standard 130 bhp came with 15" as standard. this particular car was a 150 bhp, all is good! Slimg60 0 Posted October 26, 2009 Get an insurance quote online and use the registration number to find the car. Not all 150's are Anni's, mine isn't
