Is it a straight line thrape and the Rocco beats the focus?

Apparently the current RS is just like the old one in that there are good ones, and BAAAAAD ones

Shame I can't see the clip, but that's quite interesting.

Scirocco R DSG - 1353Kg, 265hp, 258lbft from 2500-5000rpm, 195hp per tonne

Focus RS - 1468Kg, 301hp, 325lbft from 2250-4500rpm, 205hp per tonne

On paper, the RS should have the Scirocco, especially with that huge torque advantage from lower revs and a higher power to weight ratio.

Just proves paper and the real world are very different things!

I would fully expect the Rocco to out handle the RS though, thanks to the lower C of G and adaptive damping. Seems VW have done it again. Produced another 'coupe' that is better than the sum of it's parts :notworthy:

I expected more from the RS to be honest. It's not lived up to the hype and a lot of people are dissapointed it's not 4WD as orginally billed. Plus it torque steers like crazy, despite Ford claiming otherwise :D

Still, not to be too negative, it does deploy 325lb torque through the front wheels quite effectively. Can you imagine a FWD car from the 80s handling that much grunt? Not a chance!

That video was shot about 8 miles from my house. Often see Clarkson and the top gear crew up our way too hooning around in nice motors. That stretch over the mountain to Brynmawr is awesome and also deadly. Had a few deaths up there in recent years.

It looks like it. I hope to get one to replace my Mk4 Golf within the next 2 or 3 years.

I can't see the Scirroco having the same exclusivity as the Corrado. I have a feeling VW will shift a lot of these.
