nocrap 0 Posted January 27, 2010 yeah, petec on here is the guy you want to speak to http://www.dubpower.co.uk/ :D
Supercharged 2 Posted January 27, 2010 They don't fit the cable management though - fairly pointless tbh on a standardish engine
nocrap 0 Posted January 28, 2010 Is that for every size lead they do as i know they do different gauges for the vr? the £35 ones are 7mm
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 28, 2010 They don't fit the cable management though - fairly pointless tbh on a standardish engine And indeed or ANY petrol engine. Performance leads can't magically summon 50,000 more volts from a coil that can only supply half that, or open the plug gaps for you to get a bigger spark. "Performance" HT leads have always been complete cobblers. You can burn a house down with a match just as easily as you can with a blow torch. Get the air/fuel mixture right and you only need a tiny spark to ignite it. We recommend the standard red ones from VW because they're known to be physically strong, they're well made, they 'snap' onto the plugs tightly and they're reliable. I've had Magnecors and cheap garbage leads from GSF in the past where the ends have fallen off very easily. YGWYPF....

nemesis360 0 Posted January 28, 2010 The cheapest ones he does are exactly the same dimensions as the standards leads, they will fit fine and are very well made.

nemesis360 0 Posted January 28, 2010 IMHO the dubpower ones are as good as the standard items.
pete_griff 0 Posted January 28, 2010 IMHO the dubpower ones are as good as the standard items. tis true - i had a set and they are nicely made. the only drawback with the dubpower leads over oem jobbies is that they can be slightly more difficult to remove, due to them not having the metal outer with lugs on like the oem items. yes they do have those rubber handle things, but they aren't really long enough for the job and you'll stuggle to get your hands onto them (unless pete has revised the design since i bought mine quite a while ago now). regardless of that though they are still nice, good leads and very good value for money
