Danger Mouse

More dirty, scummy, thieving BAS***DS

Recommended Posts

Was out for lunch yesterday. Parked in the carpark next to the restaurant. Returned to find my passenger window with a bloody big hole in it and a buckled door.

They must have tried to get in with a screwdriver by leavering the door.... cnt do the locks, ive done the rear passat conversion. Couldnt get that so put a big block of ice through the window.

Some of you may remember I purchaced a CLIFFORD CONCEPT 300, CAT 1 alarm around 4 months ago. While all of this was going on it decided not to bother activating this day until i put my hand through the hole in the window      The alarm is going straight back to where it came from and iv got trading standards on my side if they decline to give me a full refund!!!!

Boot was full so had to unfortunately keep a few things visible as I had no where else to put them. Took them all..... about 200 quid.... BAS***DS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How bloody lucky they are that I never caught them doing it!!!!! You would all have been reading about me somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!

A mate of mine had exactly the same thing with a very expensive toad alarm complete with pager etc. Two thieving gits put half a brick through his back window to pinch his speakers and the alarm didnt go off, never mind the pager (we were in the pub 20 yards away).

We went and complained to the shop (smart car in Nottm) and they were having none of it. We then threatened to stand outside their car park for as long as it took and tell everyone what w*nkers they were. This soon bought them round to our way of thinking. Never been in there since.

I dont see how they can't NOT give you some kind of refund or something.. they sell you these alarms as state of the art, and then when some pleb sticks a brick through the window they do nothing?

You wouldn't mind so much if there had been some mastermind operation to try and wire around the alarm system and craftily not trip it - but lobbing a brick through the window is about as bloody obvious as it gets, and for a modern day cat1 alarm not to be screaming at that point is inexcusible.

Sorry about your loss DM, the motion sensor should have definately picked up the window being broken.

Very bad news......I've had to abandon my VR in a real shady place due to the weather (city is gridlocked) and I'm just hoping it's there later on/tomorrow.

RE: the Clifford reimbursement of losses thing, I think they will only pay your insurance XS if the car is stolen when the alarm was armed. If items are taken from the car due to a break in, I don't think there is any offer of financial assistance in those instances as an alarm is a detterant, not a total protection device. I could be wrong but it's worth asking the fitter.

I hope Clifford will give you a goodwill payment and the damage gets sorted. F'in theiving wretches.

Sorry Jim, I'm still at work and this PC is shite!!!

I left work at 3:30 and managed to drive 500 yards in 4 hours.....I can't believe how an inch of snow can bring a city to a grinding halt. It's pathetic!

Don't worry about the tripple post mate.. I was having PhpBB / DB errors around that time it happened, so I figured that was the cause! :)

Anyway.. i'll stop going OT.

They are out and about up here in Newton le Willows. A little old lady 10 doors up had her bag snatched an hour ago. I'd have had him if I'd have had some shoes on. He got away in an Escort. I got the number but guess what, the one I saw was blue and the number should be on a red one?

Kev, when I was at RAF St Mawgan near Newquay. It snowed twice in 4 years. Both times 2 snowflakes brought the county to it's knees. About 90% of camp never showed up.

I hope your motor is still there. Have you got a sleeping bag with you? You could do the sleeping at your desk trick, like on the telly and go for the big pay rise in the morning!!

I know, it's crazy isn't it! It's a mixture of over-crowded roads and over-cautious drivers in the case of where I live. No gritting lorries in sight, despite their promise to prepare the roads in advance of the snow.....our Council tax is being put to good use then!

LOL! Well I left off at 10:30 and thankfully it was still there sporting all it's glass and the stereo still, phew! Then the perilous 45 mile journey home began. Got to the 35 odd mile stretch of single carriageway and there was some plum doing 15mph.....got fed up, overtook him and a row of 10+ cars and stuck to about 55-60 all the way home. There was bugger all traction (Goodyear F1s are shite on ice/snow!) but I just couldn't sit there at 15mph for that distance!

Sorry, I've ranted on enough and completely hijacked the thread, sorry!

I do agree with the part about the alarm being a deterrent and not a preventative measure. However ic cost £400 to go off in those circumstances. Due to the fact it didnt, it was not fit for its intended purpose. Not to sound boring, but sale of goods act...... shall be fit for its stated and intended purpose.

Cant see how they can get out of this one.

Im going in an hour, ill let you know how it goes.

Cheers for the replies folks

I am indeed a fruitcake.... 8)

The Corrado rear seats are nice and low and bucket shaped, very appealing for a tramp looking for an unlocked car to deposit a stool into !

Does that happen a lot in your neck of the woods, Kev?!

I have to admit an ex-landlord of mine once p!ssed in a dumped car outside the house repeatedly for a few weeks until the council came to pick it up. His reasoning was that the stench would keep the kids out of it!
