Tried the wheels and it looks like 15mm spacers are needed so there getting sold on as thats too much for me. The wheels still would have sat quite far into the arch as well.

Shame as there nice subtle wheels in very good condition.

I thought they were going on the MK2 and the THs were going back on the C?

I can't keep up with your wheel changes

The MK2 would be 4x100PCD though would it not ?

Ok the MO's went tonight and I took these in exchange + cash. Very nice 7x16in, BBS RX and new powdercoating in sparkle silver.

Will need spacers to clear Wilwood calipers though. Might get some sticky rubber or saying that I'll probably end up selling them if made the right offer  .

Look very nice, what sort of money are you thinking of?

Ian.

Well I did my first trackday today with the Corrado. It started out wet and the car was ok but with the road tyres I run and conditions it was understeer city in the corners and wheelspin city on the straights. First time out an Evo conked out on the main straight and I was following a few cars thats all parted like a bomb had gone off trying to aviod the Evo. I was damn luck not to hit it. Came in to let the brakes cool for a while and managed to get another 6-7 laps when an Escort Cossy took a short cut, holed the sump and dumped his oil over the best bit of track. Took over an hour of the 4 to clean up so with this, the weather and the poor brake performance I left early to inspect my next daily runner car, a Mk5 Gti. Both the Mk4 and Mk2 are getting sold to help pay for it.

For next time out Im changing pads at very least and probably discs. Red stuff pads are fine-ish on the roads but next to useless on the track TBH.

Don't muck about with pads, just get pagid greys if they're available for your caliper! Good choice of daily!

Goes without saying the Racelogic would have stopped the spin and power understeer :D

With the racelogic fitted and better pads it will be some track car. There was plenty of fast cars there but most were stripped out caged semi slick warriors that were eating me up on the corners. Im going to get some good pads and just swap them over when going to the track.

Just sold the Mk2 and Mk4 goes on Thr. Pick up the Mk5 on Sunday, I cannot wait. Its one of the best standard cars Ive driven.

i'm gonna have to get another corrado, as your getting painfully close to having as many sets of alloys as i had

and very good call on a mk5 gti, they are very very good cars, and with a simple re-map they become rather fast

The Evo was dman quick and was shooting massive flames. Just shows how slippy it was and that was before the oil was put down.

Hmm, he didn't look that quick to me. I mean he wasn't hanging around or anything but down that main straight he wasn't that much quicker than you and you've only got 2 wheels getting the power down, and those Evo's are hard not to drive quick with all the electonic gizmos. Plus that other Evo (silver & black) was miles quicker down the straights than him, just not so hot in the corners and braking.

Give it a dry day and you with the racelogic fitted and I suspect it would be a closer match. Hold your Corrado head high Sir, I salute you! :salute:

Agreed /\

Been in a few Evos and they're not that quick, they just have traction and cornering, which on a day like that comes in handy :D

brave man....vrt,fwd,wet!!!

I did buy it to use it not polish it :D

Aye in a straight line there wasnt a huge amount in it as I pulled in behind him but after seeing what it did on the photo below Im glad I soon dropped back. The guys well known round Knockhill, he a has a few tasty Evo's. I wasnt under any illusion that car would be the suited to the conditions but I was a bit surprised by how bad the pads faired. I cant wait till the next one TBH.

That Evo looks like it's got a couple of oil rig gas flares pumping out of it!

My mate's Evo 9 360 used to chew through £400 a month in fuel. They run rich as f'ck!

New car. Sold the Mk4 and Mk2 last week and picked this up on Friday. More door basic Gti. Had to be blue as there so many of the other colours going about and I prefer the 5dr look on this. Going to change very little as its such a competent car as standard.

That's what we all said about our Corrados when we got them :D I hear Mr Manson's got one now as well. Must be a trend up your way!

Plenty I would do to a MK5 but you're right, they are very good cars out of the box!
