mic_VR 3 Posted January 19, 2011 When I were a wee lad Cambridgeshire Constabulary used to have a Lotus Espirt in police livery. They used to bust it out for special events and staff/family days (my Dad works there). They claimed it was for high speed pursuits on the A14/A1/M1 but it did about 15mpg, and they then got uprated Volvo 850R's that were just as quick and could carry more equipment whilst doing over 20mpg.... so it was sold :sad: Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Being a Lotus it will start to develop electrical gremlins within about a month and will never be the same after that. Ever. Being a Lotus the first car that rams it in a pursuit will completely trash it, as the bodywork is made from fibreglass Being a Lotus enjoy watching the porky West Midlands police officers try and extract themselves from the car as the TWOC'cers run off down the alley Being a Lotus it will be bugger all use as anything other than a pursuit car as there is no space at all for any of the normal trafpol equipment Nice bit of free publicity, but crap as a Police car I suspect.
