4eyes2wheels 0 Posted May 6, 2012 up to now I have used wax by applying and buffing by hand. having recently purchased a meguiars g220 machine and had a go at polishing with it I wonder if I can apply / buff off wax with it and if so what pad to use? or is using wax strictly a "hand job" ? seanl82 23 Posted May 6, 2012 There are dedicated "ultra soft" pads for applying sealants/waxs etc......... Collinite 476s or 915 are both fantastic and amazingly durable, I've just spent the last 2 days detailing mine and I'm shagged now! I finished off after polish (3M Ultrafina with 3M blue pad), using 2 coats of Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 (phenomenal imo!), and 2 coats of CG Petes 53 Paste. Heres some pics. Portent 0 Posted May 6, 2012 Another vote for autoglym hd wax. I've only just started using it but am very impressed and managed to get it at Halfords when they were doing a 2 for 1 offer. Not cheap but very good.

dalhalvaig 0 Posted May 7, 2012 I'm using Angel Wax that came with Octane magazine. Nice polish that seems to be lasting through several washes and rubbish weather. Says it can last 6 months on the tin - also says do not eat. It does smell like something you would want to spread on a nice scone and looks like butter. VAG-hag 0 Posted May 7, 2012 Zymol Concours for me :) oooooooohhhhhhh!! ---------- Post added at 5:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:09 PM ---------- I have in the past used meguires NXT gen paste: http://www.vertar.com/car-care-exterior/meguiars-nxt-generation-tech-wax-paste-311g/ perfectly good & very good beading but does not last too long. KADVR6 0 Posted May 7, 2012 AG HD wax is superb, brings out the shine as good as any dildo juice scene wax, but lasts sooooooo much longer.
CazzaVR 0 Posted May 7, 2012  @ scene wax I use Jetseal 109 a couple of times a year. Dodo Blue Velvet + Megs Tech wax (so easy to use). The Jetseal lasts forever (well, around 6 months), Dodo usually about a month. Been thinking of changing to AG HD or Collinite when the Dodo finally runs out, as I've heard nothing but good things about both.
MK1Campaign 0 Posted May 7, 2012 Best shine i have seen is Wolfs Body Wrap. Must go over a prepped surface but the results are incredible. Being a nano coating it lasts over 12 months if maintained correctly. I use it on my MK4 Anniversary but dont have any pics but heres a thread from DW on a MK4 R32 http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=263522

Collinite is great if you just want to wax a car and forget about doing it again for months and months, i find it does make the paint shine and look as glossy as the HD wax but its such a great wax for lazy people. Portent 0 Posted May 7, 2012 AG HD isn't exactly hard to use either... Wax on. Cup of tea. Wax off :)
