ozowen 2 Posted March 1, 2013 Sorry if this has been advertised on here. Anyone watching this new series, a better version of Wheeler Dealers. Tim and Fuzz go round the UK restoring classic cars. Last episode featured a Sierra Cosworth (no boo's) I quite like old fast fords but am very definitely a VW man. Class bit when they took the car for MOT acting all chavy............................................a thousand times better than Wheeler Dealers IMO

Harrier 1 Posted March 1, 2013 Will look out for that next week, in my history of car ownership i've had 2 Fords. Mk5 Cortina & Mk 3 Capri. Don't miss them one bit.But always wished i'd had a Mk 1 or 2 Escort . Silly money now !
captainredeye 0 Posted March 1, 2013 I will keep an eye out for this show sounds good, always liked the old fast Ford's I would never have one but got a lot of respect. For them ,chap who does work on my brother's fleet has two one is a 700 brake monster think it's well known in ford circles called the legend of el. If you ever get the chance of having a run out in a cossie take it mate the amount of jap import's i came up against when i lived in rochdale they were ok up till the limiter's then i would be bye bye i actually used to chase bikes with mine and beat them on occasion my mate is a vauxhall nut i drive a R32 powered c but to be honest the sierra when the boost come's on full chat it is imperious savagely fast and mine was only 330 i was lucky enough to be in the passenger seat of a 550-600 bhp sapp which almost ripped my inside's out i have alot of respect for ford's i also have alot of respect's for other car maker's as i know they are just as good turbo technics mk2 golf a very quick car i know one of my mate's had one ........ Oh and not to put you off the idea of getting a 911 mate 135mph M74 coming home 911 don't ask me what one as he moved out the way and i never seen him again food for thought (I had a mate with a 944 turbo and it was a serious machine but for the money i could easily have destroyed him);) Edited March 1, 2013 by clumpy1
Wendy 0 Posted March 1, 2013 Will have to watch this, sounds interesting. There are a few Capri's round these parts of late, one car I always wanted and never had the 2.8i Capri - umm what was its name ? Renouned for loosing its back end - well like most !! Best I did was the Mk 1 XR2, fitted the bill nicely at the time. As mentioned above - all these silly money now.
Harrier 1 Posted March 1, 2013 Brooklands Capri ?
captainredeye 0 Posted March 1, 2013 Yeah I hear what your saying I have a possible mk2 golf syncro project to take up but if I feel the need to have something more modern and quick out of the box just don't see the point at throwing cash at something just to make it that little bit quicker. Capri's where special to.................................before I bought BMJ (see above) I test drove an 80,000 mile black 2.0S 4 speed only reason guy was selling he'd found a one owner Capri 2,8i Special the last of them (Brooklands version had leather, I can be corrected not googled) took it for a spin with kid bro flew up a hill in third and saw a taxi ready to turn right he then did with black capri boring down on him, a slam of the brakes and a rear view mirror of 3,000 miles of thread lost and a return of the car to trader with a I'll think about it :-).............and a 5 minute wait for heart to return to normal. I used to see a Mk1 black 1300 supersport fiesta (fettled with) near where I lived and wished he'd sell it to me.............it was a beaut

seanl82 23 Posted March 2, 2013 I saw this too, thought it was a good watch. I caught half of last weeks as well, a Willys Jeep that was owned by an old fella and had been torched. Very much worth a watch, and has now been series linked!

daves16v 1 Posted March 2, 2013 I enjoyed it but Tim Shaw got on my tits a little. Probably in the same as Mike Brewer on WD. All my opinion of course :)
