Black VR6 - Rotrex - Mapping Update on Pg 20

Recommended Posts

312mm setup from a 4 Motion now fitted

Calipers coated in Black Gloss Thermal Dispersant

Another good thing about this setup is the caliper clearance is alot better than the 280s as the discs sit alot further in and there is no metal carrier sticking out so great for dished alloys on near standard offset

Check out the pics...

cheers mate

i got the setup from a golf 4motion all standard calipers discs and pads the lot for just £180 - golf had only 6000 on the clock

goodridge hoses all round too as its the only way

at the moment theyre bedding in not done much driving yet but should know the difference soon as im using the car all week

£180 with 6k on them is an excellent deal , the goodridge hoses made a big difference to mine but i think they are too good for the discs /pads sometimes, i've got pagid fast road pads on and if i hammer it for a while they can glaze and fade

iirc the golf 4 motion and audi TT share the same set up , i'll keep an eye on ebay :-)

lots of class touches on your c

yeah £180 is a steal thats why i was willing to do a 200mile round trip just to go and collect them - hopefully the braking will be a match for the engines power now

Thanks OSV

These guys do the Thermal Coating (TLTD) but i think they only had black gloss option, i did want silver like you but i guess they look ok with the black rims anyway

Which fitment Goodridge hoses are people going for and which supplier have you used? Have you gone for banjo fittings?

I went for Mk2 -> Mk4 Goodridge adapter hoses for mine, which are banjo. The callipers came with the original Mk4 hoses on tho, which were also banjo connector, but they looked a bit too long.

I got them from Stealth because I was there getting other stuff done too, but C&R stock them too (no idea how good they are on price tho).

I painted my callipers with Folia Tec stuff from Halfords - it was expensive but comes in every colour under the sun and is seriously hardcore stuff.

I put what I found works in the Wiki article, but if other people have any ideas/solutions then please update it with the new info :)

very nice mate :)

I'm gonna have to start looking, as I changed my wheels, and where the Speedlines hide the pads/calipers, the Oz's won't, so you'll be able to see them in all their rusty glory.

(plus the stopping power of them is w*nky)

Started to work on some performance mods heres an update so far...

Full gearbox rebuild and 3.6 final drive along with peloquin diff

At the same time had the chains and head work and fitted vt mounts

Serviced at 118802, last service was in sep2005 on 114545

Had a good run home puts the power down alot better and can launch the car from the lights and grips into corners even better - mounts have made the acceleration alot smooth under load

The cars in good shape to throw some more power at it now

Added a couple of pics too :)
