Wiper-less tailgate

Recommended Posts

LHD G60, cant remeber the gromet size.. I bought a box from halfords..

the wipers got a 13mm nut, loosen it off, wiggle it abt & it'll come off..

undoo the boot cover from inside & undoo the bolts etc.. its abit awkward but it comes out with abit of TLC NOT lol

I like mine, very usefull and to remove a std part like that forces it to look like a basic model as they usually have gromets to cover the holes where you were too tight to pay to have the option fitted.

It's a dogger bank idea in my opinion.

Just silly, it makes no difference, leave it alone.

they are hanging up in the same place as you get bullet connectors and zip ties etc from......

they are in a box like the bullet connectors, for about 2.49 i think?

think they do a packet of various sizes, you know, hanging on the rack with all their other bargains, like 4 (four, count 'em!) crimp connectors for around £50, or 2 Scotchloks for a fiver etc! !

I now have a de-wipered rear!

I actually found the motor very easy to remove, but i'm still having difficulty with getting the grommit to stay in place. fitted a 13mm one from halfords, but it seems very small.

Its just about in place, but looks like superglue may have to come out!

Nice Marcel, jelous on numerous counts........

A straight milteck tailpipe

A spot on paint job in my fav colour

The right rear lights for the colour

and a garage wide enough to open the door and get out!

I took your advice on the gromit, halfords pack does have just the right bit. I also touched up round the hole as you will scrape it slightly, and silconed the gromit in to be sure.

Riley, yup, welded and smoothed, but I had the lump left in so I can still reverse the mod if I ever feel like it simply by re-drilling the hole... 8)

VR6, oooh, very neat... 8)
