Diamond Black Vr6

Recommended Posts

Well the car is all good and clean again after last weekend and this eve I enjoyed a pleasant little drive out on my own. Took my camera along to try to get some decent pics, (with the CCGB calendar in mind) though the light wasn't great.

Also wondering which show/meet I should get along to next.

Getting to know the car now and enjoying it, it has some of the same characteristics of my old car and a few different ones. The engine in this one one feels much more punchy which is nice :) but the gearbox maybe not so smooth, might try some different oil in there.

thanks for reading

Wheels next Daren?

Well I had said I would keep it standard this year and see how it goes, which I plan to do.

Must admit the temptation is there to go lower and find some nice wheels but I do enjoy the nice ride of a standard car,

Would you want to sell me back the 301's ?!!!!

Looks great in the pictures.

Stand out from the crowd and stay standard.

I would sell them back to you no problem Daren however I'm not selling up.

Stand out from the crowd Chris?? I think you will see more in the standard guise than in the 301 guise. (nevermind the rs rep's etc)I seem to remember you owned this and possibly the best set of 301's in the country man time's have changed.....

I didn't mean the RS's, I simply meant the lowered suspension and different allots in general!

I still think RS's are the best wheel.

I know they're top shelf. I would be prepared to offer close to that yeh. Pretty tasty set on wheel-whores *drools*

I'm not wanting to turn Daren's thread into a debate as Jim is circling like a vulture but these particular rs's are worth all of that. Now lets let Jim do his clean up the thread ;)

Nope. It's general banter relating to the car - no desire to do any pruning here.

And 99% of the time, I only clean up the thread when the original poster of it asks me to do so.

Got any details on the car lift your using, looks interesting.

It's a Bendpak mid-rise scissor lift, runs off ordinary 3 pin 13amp mains, lifts to around 1.8mtrs, portable on rollers, though it's v. heavy. Good bit of kit :)

Cars looking spot on Daren, nothing like some fresh paint.

Must admit though,as nice as it looks, I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation to lower it :thumbleft:

Taken advantage of a quietish week at work to drop out the rear beam for blasting, coating an re-bushing. Also dropped the exhaust system to clean along with the heat shields which will be blasted too.

And a general spruce up under there 8)

Looking forward to the next instalment . I get envious of other chaps getting their cars sorted . I've had my powdercoated beam for two months now , just a few more parts and a tax rebate and I will be sorting mine .
