Bit of advice, the syncro meshes are notoriously poor, so make sure your at, or very nearly at a complete stand still before engaging first. Cheers Sean! I was at stand still ...it seems like it need a good minute before a smooth gear 1??? Wayne2015 10 Posted March 13, 2015 yeee haarrr! thats the puppy! i go the long way most time the sun is out & the roads are dry, 20 miles to my local corner shop i will have you know ;) pmsl how were your oil & water temps m8? handle can be sorted & hopefully the gearbox oil refresh will help the crunch - have you fitted the short shifter yet? i found that took away much of the sloppyness in gear stick feel & stopped my occassional 2nd to 2rd crunch when booting it PS did you know there is a programmable intermittent wiper function? ;) Oil / water temps fine? Got to 50 oil then started to boot....once 70 oil then started to go near red line :) Having 2nd thoughts about the short shift too. Quite happy with the current setup (silky smooth usually). Might sell me to someone who has already expressed an interest.. ...i mean i can always get another from Daves16v :) No I didnt know aboug programming thd wipers - how? The ones on the aqua were missing and mine are faded, so swapped them over. Part number 1J0-955-205A. £1.71 each. Undo it, it's not too long and that will allow you to remove the handle. Pull the lock part of the handle away from the car. On the picture above, you can see the small bit of white plastic, that part of the handle needs to be slid under the metal at the forward edge of the hole in the door. No need to open anything, it only works if theres air trapped near worn seals - air will leak past where fluid wont. It also splits the bubbles of air making them easier to bleed out. Clutch Slave Cylinder changed coz when my car broke down on day of buying , I couldnt get it into gear after heavy traffic. RAC man said i should hold the clutch - but put it in neutral. He also said clutch pedal sticking (stays low that i had to lift the pedal higher) - He said change the clutch slave cylinder Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
