Wayne2015 10 Posted April 19, 2015 Stubby aerial? Is it that ugly? I had a hard time seeing the aerial alone?!!! But yes :thumbleft:
Wayne2015 10 Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) Research seem to show there were TWO aerial types for the Corrado? 1. Newer Single cable (co-ax no booster) 2. Older twin cable (co-ax + power cable for booster in base of aerial) I believe i have the newer type? How does one disconnect the connection on the left of the pic? I know my new aerial works ... It has a 3meter cable to co-ax plug. So, Since i already have the headliner out, Might as well replace the whole aerial cable! 1. How easy is it? 2. Where is the aerial booster? 3. Can i just pull the aerial from stereo via the A-pillar and it just comes out? Cheers Edited April 19, 2015 by Wayne2015
seanl82 23 Posted April 19, 2015 Bit of a ball ache replacing the lot Wayne. It runs along the top of the passenger side of the roof, down the A pillar, and along the dash support below the windscreen. It runs underneath the foam so it'll be hard to just pull it out too. Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted April 19, 2015 The difference between the high and low level on the dip stick is a litre so for you to have gone through a quarter litre in 100 miles is quite bad. Unless of course the car was parked nose up for the second reading. Ideally check when cold in the same spot for consistency.

Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted April 19, 2015 Top it up to the max mark and keep an eye on it for another week and see what is what in case you've just done something weird by mistake? I know it sounds a bit cheeky but you did get the district all the way in for the second check? I normally pull out, wipe clean, stick it back and check for the level again. (oooohh eeerrr)

Sean_Jaymo 0 Posted April 19, 2015 Oh and 1 litre per 1000 miles seems to be the accepted limit of oil use.
Wayne2015 10 Posted April 19, 2015 Oh and 1 litre per 1000 miles seems to be the accepted limit of oil use. Cool So i just need to make sure its 250miles per 1/4 dipstick (and not 100) U think my 2-3 times weekly va-va-vroom did it? Or the ocassional blue smoke (one thread said its cos the cylinders are thinner than golf s or something???)
Wayne2015 10 Posted April 19, 2015 Still not convinced if short aerial is more befitting or old longer aerial? By the way, is my old aerial OEM??? What does everyone think?

The cylinder wall thickness isn't the issue, it's valve stems normally if it's on the overrun or start up. Could be piston rings but not normally on vr6 lumps. Maybe you have a leak? Anything under the car? Classic places on these engines are the oil sensors on the oil filter housing or the rocker cover gasket. You should be able to drive the nuts off it when the oil is warm and not use hardly anything. I like the longer aerial myself :-)

But then when it went into the garage for 1st time the garage did say MAJOR OIL and RADIATOR leak  So it could be me (or i need to go to spec savers!) Yes. I prefer the longer aerial myself. But when its not on the car, the shorter aerial just looks better! Will see - as both aerials are easily interchangeable anyway :thumbleft:
